  • Features
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Dishwasher Buying Guide

  • Tap touch controls: Clean these controls as easily as you use them.
  • Flexible loading options: Adjustable upper basket, folding tines, removable upper basket, 3rd rack and AnyWare silverware basket.
  • 24-hour delay-start: Lets you set the dishwasher to start running while you're working, sleeping or running errands.
  • Accommodates up to 15 place settings: Generous interior space means more clean dishes, fewer loads.
  • In-Door Silverware basket: Frees up rack space by easily fitting on the front of the lower rack or in the door to make room for more dishes.
  • Third level rack: Allows you to load more dishes and get extra room for hard to fit items.
  • Stainless steel tub: Promotes drying by retaining heat from wash and rinse cycles. Plus, it cools faster than the dishes so moisture can condense on the interior walls and not the dishes.
  • TotalCoverage spray arm: Cleans with twice the jets for more coverage. A smarter sequence of spray patterns from multiple nozzles hits dishes throughout the cycle.
  • High temperature wash option: Gives items like baby bottles, glassware or dishes a more thorough clean.
  • Energy Star Certified: Energy Star certified models exceed government standards to help save money on your utility bills.
  • Heated dry option: Use a clean, dry dish straight from the dishwasher thanks to added heat for drying. For optimal drying results, use this option with rinse aid.
  • Sensor Cycle: Automatically selects the right wash and dry settings for your load by using two separate sensors to measure temperature, soil level and load size once during the prewash and once during the wash cycle.
  • Normal Cycle: Use for normal amounts of food soil to clean up leftover messes from your day-to-day meals.
  • 1-Hour Wash Cycle: Cleans dishes in half the time compared to normal cycle with lightly soiled loads so your plates, pans and glasses are thoroughly cleaned up and taken care of in just an hour.
  • Heavy Cycle: Take care of heavily-soiled messes and other hard-to-clean dishes without the extra elbow grease by adding extra time to the cycle.

Q: Don't the racks adjust??? The sprayer arm is hitting my normal sized dinner plates on the lower level, and there is NOTHING mentioned in the online user manual, which I printed (8 pages) about how to adjust the height.

A: Hello Perplexed! Per page 11 of the Use and Care Guide: EZ-2-Lift™ Top Rack Adjuster: You can raise or lower the top rack to fit tall items in either the top or bottom rack. Adjusters are located on each side of the top rack. To raise the rack: Press both rack adjuster thumb levers and lift the rack until it is in the up position and level. To lower the rack: Press both rack adjuster thumb levers and slide the rack to its down position and level. NOTE: The top rack must be level.

Q: Does everyone like the 3rd rack or is it useless? Is the upper basket deeper in the models without the 3rd rack? By tall glasses do you mean more than 16 oz? Is the filter easy to remove and do you wash it or replace it?

A: 3rd rack is useful for large knives and utensils. Upper rack is adjustable and accommodate large glasses by adjusting it to the lower position. The filter is easily removable and can be washed.

Q: I know this particular dishwasher does not have the finger print resistant coating. How does this Whirpool hold up to fingerprints and smudges without it? Does it stay fairly clean?

A: Melissa, I absolutely love this dishwasher. I was concerned about that as well when I was looking to purchase this dishwasher. I have an 8 year old that helps out in the kitchen with the dishes and I've had no issues with fingerprints or smudges.

Q: We have an existing Maytag dishwasher. The height under counter top and floor is EXACTLY 34" Maytag has adjustable legs, does this one also have this type of leg so we can get it under the top? Thanks

A: Hi Raycon, the minimum height is 33 1/2 and the maximum is 34 1/2. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!

Q: What are the racks made of? My current dishwasher has racks that are metal coated with vinyl. Within the first year, they began to corrode. I want to make sure that this will not happen with a new dishwasher.

A: Shortcake, the dishwasher racks are made of Nylon. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!

Q: Is this particular dishwasher the fingerprint resistant stainless steel? Or is it just regular stainless steel?

A: This is the regular stainless steel. However, we use the handle to open and close the dishwasher and I have only had to wipe it down the one time after they installed it. So far I am very happy with the dishwasher.

Q: I did not know the door handle was stainless steel It shows black the same color as the dishwasher I ordered all black stainless steel The handle does not match other appliances in my kitchen Please reply

A: Ordered matching set of dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and microwave and all showed black stainless in the picture but they all came with original stainless handles. In my case we like the original stainless color handles.
