Whirlpool - 25.2 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Internal Water Dispenser - White

This Whirlpool refrigerator is almost an exact dupe for the Amana refrigerator that I had (which lasted 14 years!) Everything about the inners is pretty much identical, so much so that I was able to transfer the bucket rubber liners from the Amana to the Whirlpool. There isn’t a dairy roll-top compartment, instead there’s another bucket. Also the freezer lighting is dimmer than my former Amana but I’m getting used to it. I have no complaints about the noise others have mentioned, in fact I find it a bit quieter than my Amana. Cons: Whirlpool claims that this Black Stainless Steal is “fingerprint resistant” well that’s not entirely true! Similar to a watch being “water resistant” vs “waterproof”. There are smudges but they are easily buffed out with a soft kitchen towel. Also, I have to say that I was quite surprised when the fridge arrived that only the face of the refrigerator is Black Stainless Steal and the sides were the traditional Black beveled grain I had before. When you view the unit in the showroom, they’re all wedged together so the sides aren’t visible.

Beautiful appliance until you put refrigerator magnets on it, the marks do not come out. The center rail which supports the vegetable drawers breaks often and I have replaced several times. There is a piece of unprotected Styrofoam behind the drawers which doesn't stay clean and is stamped on it, 'Do Not Remove'. When I called to complain about this ridiculous piece of Styrofoam, I was told it was designed this way and could void my warranty if I take it out. Obviously this was designed by someone who has never had the convenience of refrigeration or ever had the pleasure of cleaning one.

Well I wanted to love this refrigerator but I don’t. There are a few things that whirlpool could do better. My 1st purchase was an insignia but after a month the ice maker went out and they were not able to find the part so I had to get a new refrigerator. With the selections available at the time since there was a shortage on product I went with the whirlpool since it was the 2 doors at the top and pull out drawer bottom freezer and available for deliver ASAP. The issues I have with the whirlpool is the door shelves are shallow compared to the insignia, the overhead light at the top hangs down so it makes it hard to use the top shelve for large juice containers, (the insignia light was flush with inside top of the roof in the refrigerator and the temperature control buttons were flush on the outside where the doors closed against the refrigerator), the freezer drawers are smaller and the top one is a wire rack so small items can fall through. The insignia was 2 plastic drawers and they were larger. The other thing wrong is this one does not have an alarm if the doors or draw are left open and with this refrigerator if you do not close them hard and make sure they are closed you will find out a few hours later they will be open (that is from experience a couple of times with both the refrigerator and freezer drawers). The best thing with this one VS the insignia is the outside is fingerprints proof for the stainless steel. The insignia was horrible and I was wiping it down so many times a day specially when you have kids. So if you are looking for a new refrigerator do some comparison before you buy one to make sure it has all you want and need.

Replaced our old side by side whirlpool (which still was running great after 11 years) works wonderfully, fridge space is great, freezer is pretty good too but I see why people get a chest freezer.

We received this fridge open box and we have not had any complaints so far. Size and features are great for the price you’re paying.

This is a nice fridge for the price. The one thing EVERYONE needs to understand is this picture is not at all accurate as to what you will receive. The handles are NOT the same color as the refrigerator. They are stainless steel with a slight shade of darkness. In my opinion. Whirlpool is purchasing middle of the road regarding color so they can use the same handles on multiple products. Best Buy rectified the situation but I'd still rather have handles that matched the refrigerator like the ones shown in this picture. This is an entry level refrigerator amongst all the fancy ones you will see out there.

The delivery was on time. The refrigerator was not nicked or dented. The delivers were great.
