    Features

    Water Level Selection

Choose the water level you need for the cycle you want.

No matter which wash cycle you choose, Water Level Selection lets you select Auto Sensing to adjust water based on load size or the Deep Water Wash option to help break down loose soils with more water.

Smooth Spiral Stainless Steel Wash Basket

Help protect fabrics from snagging with this stainless steel wash basket that gently guides clothes during the wash.

Two way Wash Action Agitator with Fabric Softener Dispenser

Take on your toughest loads. The traditional two way action spiral agitator provides the wash action and cleaning performance to give your clothes the right clean.

    3.8 cu. ft. Capacity

Get the extra space you need to wash bulky items with this 3.8 cu. ft. capacity washer.

    Soaking Cycles

Soak and wash in one cycle. Skip a trip to the laundry room with Soaking cycles that start washing whites and colors as soon as they're done soaking.

    Late Lid Lock

Throw clothes in the wash at the last minute with the late lid lock.

    Quick Wash Cycle

Wash a small, lightly soiled load in as little as 30 minutes with increased spin speeds to remove more water so clothes can spend less time in the dryer. (Based on a 3 lb load.)

    Whites Cycle

Keep your whites looking their best with a cycle that cleans thoroughly while gently caring for your clothes.

    Colors Cycle

Care for colored fabrics with a cycle that uses cold water to provide optimal fabric care.

    Bulky/Sheets Cycle

Takes care of bedding as well as those bulky winter jackets. The washer fills with enough water to wet down the load before the wash cycle begins, then uses a higher water level than other cycles.

    Delicates Cycle

Clean your delicate items with an intermittent wash action and slow spin speed, to provide everything you'd expect for gentle fabric care.

    Extra Rinse Option

Ensure dirty loads get the care they need with an extra rinse to wash away any lingering soils or detergent.

    Soil Level Selection

Choose the right amount of agitation for your fabrics with an option that lets you select the soil level of your load on any cycle, so you get less agitation on light loads and more on full or dirty loads.

    Clean Washer with Affresh® Cycle

Run the affresh® cycle every 30 washes with an affresh® Washer Cleaner tablet or liquid chlorine bleach to thoroughly clean the inside of your washer.

      Squeaky clean!

My old washer was 17 years old and was starting to finally break down. I was hesitant on some of the new washers, but I loved that this still had an agitator and a deep water option. However so far “deep water” means to the top of the drain holes in the drum - which is only halfway up the drum. It’s then I realized the old washers drain holes went all the way to the top. So learning curve - don’t stuff the washer to the brim. I actually found that I was given more water if I use the sensor instead. It gives a generous amount of water per the load size that way. And my first load - I was stunned to discover that old kid related stains came out with no pre treating. My old washer clearly wasn’t cleaning them. Also, I was wary of the “noise” complaints. Our washer is in the basement. I used to be able to hear the old one from my main floor. Not annoyingly so - but you could hear it. This one - I have to walk down to the basement to check if its working because I can’t hear a thing unless I’m down there. I’m pretty sure the noise complaints are coming from those who haven’t had old school washers in a long time.

Looked for a basic washing machine with a few cycle options and water temp. options. Nothing is that simple anymore...but I found this Whirlpool one of the most basic to meet my needs and budget. Did some online research and this was the best bang for my buck with the best reviews. Many people complained about the noise. What noise? I can't hear it at all until I go into the laundry room. Very quiet operation, including the spin cycle, and love the bigger capacity than my old machine..even though this is a smaller capacity compared to what is out there. It has a few more bells and whistles than I need, and I'm not crazy about the new Auto sensing feature for water levels that are on pretty much every new machine, but I just choose the deep water option to ensure there is enough water for my liking. Only had the machine a week, so no issues yet.

If you want a washing machine that is kind of like your old one that filled completely this kind of works. I have had to learn to use only certain cycles to get the amount of water I want for each load. But you kind of get a deep fill for wash and then a deep fill for the rinse with the ability to choose a second rinse which is also a deep one. This is nice. I keep my machine on deep fill wash and deep 2 rinses. But There are only two cycles with low spin and you can’t change the spin speed. The fast speed wrinkles the clothes and you can’t shake the wrinkles out as you can when the spin speed is slower. Machine takes awhile to unlock when you pause but it does not lock until after the wash cycle which is nice. It is a pretty good machine.

This was a replacement for an older unit that died. Repair cost was going to be prohibitive. The buying experience was good, sales associate knew his stuff, and was open to discussing bad points of different models, as well as good. Delivery was prompt, installation was quick and clean, and the old unit was hauled away for us. Simple in operation - how many lights and dials do you *need* on a washer, anyway? - and works just fine for our needs. The only reason not to give it 5 stars, is that it's louder in operation than the old one. Not horribly loud, but noticeably so.

I've had my new washer for a month now. It's the best. works well, gets out most stains out with one wash, those it doesn't are very set in or needs more soaking. The service in the store was good. (Helps that I came in knowing what I wanted having shopped online.) The delivery service was fantastic. They took off the basement door for me so they could get the washer downstairs, then put it back when they were done. They also took the old washer away to be recycled. They didn't even scuff my wood floors while moving heavy washers around. I would buy this item again from Best Buy!

I bought the washer to replace a 14-year old Maytag Atlantis; the Whirlpool is a little smaller but has .7 more water capacity. So far the auto-sensing water option works as advertised, filling up only as far as the load requires. It has a interesting feature where the water automatically drains out if the lid is open for 10 minutes or longer, which I'm not used to. It's also so quiet I actually had to check on it a few times to make sure it was actually working. Very happy!

It’s a very good and reliable washer that I have ever owned. Before this washer I used the same brand but older model. That one was very noisy and very hard to use. This new one it will determine the amounts of water that it needed to complete the load. Very easy to use, you just leave it and it will do the job for you. I’m happy to choose this washer and I have to thank to the salesman who introduced this machine for me.

This washing machine has so much going or it. First, I don't have to assign the load level, it does that automatically. It is very simple to use...just add detergent, your clothes, and hit start. It does make a lot of noise while it measures the necessary height for the water, but you get used to that pretty quickly. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great machine at a nice price!
