Questions & Answers (333)
Q: so many bad reviews,, is this washer truly a BAD BUY!? (22 answers)
A: Not a bad guy at all for the price. It has a super large capacity....bigger than that of a front loader. It runs much quieter than our old Samsung front loader. The spin is not quite as good but still very adequate.Q: does this machine have a bleach and fabric softener dispensers? (14 answers)
A: Bleach, yes. Softener, no. For softener you have to choose a particular rinse cycle ("Rinse with softener, or 2 Rinses with softener") and the wait around for the rinse cycle to put the softener in.Q: Why do people complain about wet clothes? (7 answers)
A: I've run two loads so far in my washer. A good size load of towels though not totally full or packed in on deep wash then a load of t-shirts, shorts and two pairs of jeans (probably 15 items). Both were supposed to have a high spun speed. Both cycles ended and it's obvious they had not spin. Clothes were dripping wet in the center of washer. This is what people are complaining about when they say wet clothes. And yes, I loaded it exactly as the directions said. After running the drain and spin cycle, they were properly spun out.Q: How fast does thi swasher complete its wash cycle (8 answers)
A: It depends on how you set the controls. One rinse or two? It has a quick wash setting, a heavy load setting, and can be adjusted for light to heavy soil, so there are a lot of variables. But the plus is no matter how long it takes is that you can do a huge load all at once instead of having to split it and do two loads in a regular machine. And it saves on water and detergent.Q: Can you open the lid once it starts filling? (12 answers)
A: only if you push the start/pause button- A: In the manual it says to use certain settings for certain loads. Maybe try 'High' on the spin setting. Also for the wash setting maybe try putting it on 'Heavy Duty' or ' Bedding'. I think this allows for heavier fabrics like jeans or towels, that do soak in a lot of water. I have not had a problem with items being soaked with water after the load is finished accept for one time and maybe one of my kids did a light load and changed the settings and I just assumed it was on the higher setting that I usually use, I'm not sure I didn't check, but the fix was just turning the wash setting to 'Spin' and it gave it that extra spin cycle to get rid of the extra water. My son pointed out to me that he forgot to add the fabric softener during a wash that he did and so when it finished washing he put the softener in the little pull out drawer and then set it to 'Rinse + Spin' and it worked perfect! Oh just one last thing, we fill the washer and don't worry about the middle. I just washed pillows and they were definitely in the middle, so I don't think you need to worry about that.
- A: Whirlpool Load HE Washer - WTW5000DW2 I loathe this washer! The fabric softener settings are there, but you must catch the moment it is ready for fabric softener! I am like most people and am not watching the machine for just the right moment to stop and add softener. This machine uses a minimal amount of water, even in the deep water cycles. I rinse everything twice since the clothes don’t feel clean at end of one rinse. All in all I miss my old washing machine where I could choose the water cycle and had a fabric dispenser. This machine demands that you sit next to it band catch just the right moment to stop and add the softener. Ridiculous considering that no one I know has the time and dedication to do this., Did I mention that I hate this washer?
- A: The “deep water “ setting doesn’t work 75 percent of the time. This is the worst washer we have ever had. I keep the setting on deep water and half of our clothes are still dry from not having enough water. Oh and the sensing function is truly annoying. We know how much water we need on our clothes. Small medium large extra large. Period.
