I've only had it a few weeks. At first it ran constantly (though pretty quietly) but now it doesn't run at all, because it reads 35 %, which is the lowest threshold. It may be because our basement has dried out that much. The digital humidistat in that room reads the same at 35%. However, a professional mold removal specialist who came to assess our basement with his own humidistat read the room at 55%. So I am not convinced yet that this machine is reading the humidity correctly. This brand and model has a reputation for needing new sensors occasionally, and I have my eye out for that possibility. I like the feature which allows pumping from the machine through a thin hose to the sink or tub. The hose is long enough that I put the dehumidifier in another room.

So far so good, I have used Whynter dehumidifiers in the past and had good luck. Using in a fairly large basement and is keeping up. Love the pump.
