Synopsis

X2: X-Men United
When a failed assassination attempt occurs on the President's (Cotter Smith) life by the teleporting mutant Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), it's Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and his School for Gifted Youngsters who are targeted for the crime. While Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) and Storm (Halle Berry) try and locate the assassin, Cyclops (James Marsden) and Xavier (also known as 'Professor X') seek answers from their old foe Magneto (Ian McKellan) in his glass cell...Little do they know they're walking into a trap set by the villainous William Stryker (Brian Cox), a mysterious governmental figure that figures into Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman) secretive past, along with information about the X-Men's operation, supplied by Magneto through a mind-controlling agent. Meanwhile Wolverine, just home from a failed mission to regain his memory, is in charge of the students when a crack-commando team led by Stryker infiltrates the school by order of the President. With a mansion full of young, powerful mutants and the ferocious Wolverine in babysitter mode, can he defend the school against the one man who can answer his questions? What roles do the sinister Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) and Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu) have in all of this? Why does Stryker want Professor X and his Cerebro machine? With the war between humanity and mutants escalating to extremes, can the rest of the X-Men trust their old foes to help them? Director Bryan Singer returns and raises the stakes in this sequel to the highly lauded 2000 adaptation of Marvel Comics' X-Men. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi

This is a repackage in a Metalpak case NOT a Steelbook brand case. This is the first Metalpak I have purchased and while it is not as stylish as a Steelbook (the spine looks horrid), it does have decent artwork on the outer case and inside. You get what you pay for and for $8 you get a decent collectible case plus the movie cash to see Deadpool; makes the purchase overall worth it. If you're looking for a release with all the extra BTS features, I would recommend the regular blu-ray 2-disc release over this Metalpak repackage as it only includes 1 disc.

I already own this on blu-ray, but I wanted to add this to my steel box collection. I have all the X-Men movies plus the Wolverine movie's in the steel box packaging from Target with the exception of the most recent one. I was surprised that Best Buy was doing all the X-Men movies reissued in the steel box packaging with the exception of the Wolverine movies. Most fans will say that this is their favorite and the best of the movies. I personally love the "Last Stand" as my favorite but this is definitely one of the best Marvel movies from any studio.

I think that "X2: X-Men United" was once again one of the greatest X-Men films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite X-Men films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also really enjoyed all of the films in the first X-Men trilogy including "X-Men" and "X3: The Last Stand". I also think that "X2: X-Men United" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense including really great and amazing personal storylines as well.

X2 not only is even better than the first installment in the series but also comes with same quality you'd expect from Fox on these films with bright whites at alkali lake and even being able to count the stubble on wolverines chin also if you're lucky you'll get the film with a slipcover and 8$ off ticket for Deadpool 2 my favorite x-men movie

X2-X-men United takes place after the first X-men movie and it steps up each and every aspect of film-making and story telling as this movie far surpasses the first (which I greatly enjoyed) and does so while giving background on the characters we all got to know in the first installment and introducing new characters that all add greater dimensions to the overall story. I highly recommend this movie and the blu-ray quality of the video and sound makes the film even more enjoyable.

Great next movie in the franchise with excellent new character additions, namely Nightcrawler. The special effects keep the movie exciting to watch at all times and the plot is put together well. Wolverine isn't fully unleashed as the animal fighter he is, but there is still some great fight sequences. Cyclops is minimized, which leaves fans like myself disappointed, but this movie certainly packs a punch that will have audiences leaving wanting the next movie.

Picked up this movie as soon as it became available. This is easily the best movie of the X-Men movie trilogy, and you might want to stop watching the series after this movie is over. Without spoiling anything, rumor has it, the events from the third film will be "fixed" once the new movie hits theaters. Can't wait. In the meantime, enjoy this flick -- it even includes movie money to watch The Wolverine in theaters!
