Wanted a home theater system that wont break the bank and sounds great for a basement bar. Picked it up online for a little over $800 with some accessories on the side. It was relatively simple to set up with HDMI cables and speaker wire. Make sure to measure your cables, they give 80ft which is enough but can run into issues if run into a ceiling or wall. My Ps4, DVD player and cable box are all run into the receiver. It controls all of it with a push of the button. I havnt played with the Bluetooth yet but it has that and other options i havnt tinker with yet. It does have great sound and a bass speaker that really kicks but it is only 720 watts and personally i wish it was a little louder. That is the 4 stars instead of 5. That is really my only complaint otherwise.

Is this product top of the line home stereo? No. Is this better than 90% of the sound bars that are out there? Yes! Could you buy a Bose surround sound thats probably better? Yes. So, if you know what you want, this is a very good surround sound system that is good value. Yamaha puts out a very good product. This receiver decodes most if not all of the Dolby codes for movies, has a subwoofer that definitely puts out the base(!), and has lots of input options for HDMI, component, bluetooth, etc. I recommend it for the price point. You can listen to to FM radio, tv, blu-ray, or game systems and the receiver has options to tailor the output of the sound.
Cons: more difficult to hook up than a sound bar but really its not bad. The rear speakers are wired so you will have to determine if that works for you. The speakers are smallish and lightweight - thats ok for most applications but it means that the system relies on the subwoofer for most of the base. I recommend getting better speaker wire as the supplied speaker wire will work but seems very lightweight.
I use this system for all the applications mentioned above. It sounds great and is good value in my opinion. To noticeably upgrade beyond this system you would need to spend double the amount or more!
If you are not able to see this in the store then know that the 4 satellite speakers are only 6.5 inches tall. See picture.

Fantastic. Sounds incredible, daily driver with my 2 monitor PC set up, ps5, switch and a media server. The options and settings are quite robust, with a nice on screen interface. The bass box will quite literally rattle the windows and the room, and the sounds from the speakers in a 5.1 set up sound amazing, crisp, and the flow of the audio is simply on point. I purchased this one as a "settle for what they have" kind of situation and am by NO means disappointed it went down that way. Happy with the purchase, will buy one for my living room too.
Oh, also, you can rename any of the inputs so you can sort by device when rolling through the menu. Bluetooth to my phone for Spotify is a god send too.

I love this surround sound set. Works really really good. Makes for watching movies and playing so much better. You get to hear all the diffeent things happening in the movie even stuff in the background that otherwise tou would not hear. It also hooks up my sub and amp makeing for even better sound. The sub that comes with the set is ok so that is why i switched it to my sub set. But i also like big bass. But this set is really really nice.

So I have had this surround sound for a couple days & I will say it sounds amazing for anything at this price point of $500 or below. The subwoofer sounds amazing puts out great bass for movies, music. The speakers sound very clear. The receiver has lots of options & is a good size & works great so far. I would highly recommend this if you want a very good surround sound experience without breaking the bank. I have this paired with my Sony Bravia 65Inch X900H TV

More than enough as it fills the room with complete sound. The AM/FM reception is excellent with clarity beyond expectations. The sub woofer carries a bass that like the entire system performs above and beyond!

Pretty solid surround sound system. For the price it’s hard to beat, gets super loud, not the greatest sound quality at the higher volumes but absolutely great for movies and games. I’ve also had it for like 3 years and it’s lasted through a lot. Very good value

Amazing sound quality we used to listen to our television through and also our music through our iPhones we love everything about the Yamaha system this is a great system for our use and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice inexpensive complete system in a box.
A:The rear speakers are hard wired and the speaker wire to hook the rear speakers to the unit is included with the unit. The Bluetooth allows you to connect a Bluetooth device to the receiver so you can stream audio (only audio no video) to the receiver. A perfect example would be your phone. I use the Bluetooth to play music from my phone to the receiver. You just switch the input on the receiver to Bluetooth and do a scan on whichever device you want to connect to the receiver and it automatically pairs with the receiver.
A:I think the subwoofer has plenty of bass and have cranked it only to half before and had it vibrating our floors. There is a individual volume control knob on the back of the subwoofer which will allow you to turn it up. There is also an individual subwoofer bass level control in the receiver and the receiver has a button on the remote you can press for extra bass. The subwoofer included with the receiver is a "powered" subwoofer so it has to be hooked up to it's own power outlet. The powered subwoofers perform better since they don't have to draw power/voltage from the receiver. You can use a different sub with the unit and most subs will work. If you buy a sub, go with one that is a powered sub and not a passive one.
A:No, they are all hardwired and must be connected to the back of the receiver using the included speaker wire. You would have to buy a rear speaker wireless kit if you wanted the rear speakers to be wireless.
A:it has built in am/fm but no dvd. it has multiple hdmi inputs so you can connect dvd and send the video straight through to tv and amplify the sound through the stereo
A:The included speaker models are as follows: The whole package is labeled NS-P41. Making that up are 4 NS-B40 front and surround speakers (identical), 1 NS-C40 center speaker, and 1 NS-SW050 subwoofer. Each speaker has a max input power of 100 watts, for a total of 600. The front/surround and center speakers are all powered by the receiver, but the subwoofer requires it's own plug. All of the speakers are wired, so you'll want to consider how you are going to hide wires, particularly for the surround speakers.
