i bought it off bestbuy.com assuming it had wireless internet capabilities, in best buys PRODUCT FEATURES it states ""Connect to the Internet-For access to Netflix, YouTube, vTuner Internet Radio and more. DLNA capability allows you to wirelessly access content stored on compatible devices (not included). " that mislead me to believe that it has a wireless connection to the network in which you connect to netflix and youtube. THAT IS UNTRUE. you have to have the unit plugged directly into a wireless router via Ethernet cable. i called yamaha and the person i spoke with told me that the product description is misleading. couldnt give me a good answer as to why.
there are 2 types of sound features, one is where the center speaker is overpowering and the front speakers are almost unheard. the second one is where the front speakers are the loudest and the center speaker does not produce any sound at all. there is no option to even out the speakers a little.
also. it is more complicated to navigate though options than it needs to be.
compared to previous home theater devices and bluray players i have owned, this is quite disappointing.. i thought i was upgrading from 5-7 year old products to this brand new, higher quality, and upgraded model. i was wrong. totally just downgraded. i will be returning it. if you have never had a home theater system you might not notice any issues besides the misleading wireless capability. but if you have something to compare it to you will be very disappointed i am sure. i know i am :/
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
