lOVE OUR NEWLY INSTALLED ROKU AND YAMAHA THEATER
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new Roku with it's beautiful fish-tank home screen saver is such a nice feature. The additional apps and 4K capabilities are also worth having and of course the voice command remote. Best Buy Geek Squad installed our new Yamaha Aventage 7.2-Ch. Bluetooth Capable HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver making our Whole HOME THEATER come together with all 6 entertainment sources easily accessed from one universal remote. Our vinyl never sounded so good. 3D on our 4K OLED is better enhanced with the surround sound experience.

Love the power and sound coming from this receive.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My trusty 14 year old Marana dies after 14 years and I was in the market for an amplifier to meet my needs. I have large custom built speakers 2x8 with two custom 1x12 sub woofer boxes on each side which means I need an amp that has plenty of power to push through and sustain the 4ohm top speakers. I took a listen to all major brands at the store (Sony, Denon, Pioneer, Marantz...)., I also took a listen a the lower tier amps in the $400 range but was not impressed. As soon as the Yahmaha A780 was playing I knew it's the one, plenty of power and sound is satisfactory. Plenty of features too including Bluetooth to play music from phone. Menu navigation is simple and the surround processing unit for stereo plugged media computer playing Netflix movies is top notch, much better than the old Dolby Pro-Logic days. With so many circuits on board including firmware chip to control the software I am worried how long it will last but for now it was worth the money paid. Only con I could think of is they should have included a built in cast option for video.

Great sound
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound, easy set up, great app. Play iPhone music with blue tooth. You can control the receiver with your smart phone. It even told me I had speaker wires crossed.

works perfectly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really am enjoying this unit. It works well and audio (and visual) works great and sounds great. Use the phone app to control it---much easier than the remote (and I don't even know where the controls are on the unit itself).

great sound very complex to use
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound is excellent and the auto speaker balancing feature works well. My problem is with the unit switching between inputs very slowly. At one point I had picture but no sound. Best Buy sent it to their repair center which sent it back a month later and said they found no problem. However, they did update the firmware and now the unit has both sound and picture so maybe the update was what it needed. If you buy this be sure to find out how to do the update. The instructions do not tell how to do this. I guess it is a situation where the designers have tried to cram in too many features and this resulted in some instability and overly complex set up.

Q: QuestionI'd like to know the big difference between the Yamaha RX A780 and the RX V685 other than power. I'm trying to decide between the two.
Asked by RJ.
- A:Answer It has little bit more to offer and the advantage series is a good one it has lots of power and more there's a lot of receivers even the top of the line ones but this one I won't trade for anything it does it's job

Q: QuestionDo I need to go to TV, or can I go directly to AV?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer There only needs to be a single HDMI cable from Receiver to TV. All other sources can go to the Receiver. If your TV HDMI input is ARC capable (Audio Return Channel) then the TV's built in apps such as streaming will play audio back to the Receiver over the HDMI cable

Q: QuestionCan you set a volume control, so the speakers will only get so loud?
Asked by Diane.
- A:Answer You can set a maximum volume 'loudness' control and set a volume level the receiver will power up at.

Q: QuestionAre there no bare wire connections with this receiver, and if not what do I do with the bare wires that are in place?
Asked by spyder777.
- A:Answer You can use bare speaker wire. The terminals unscrew and the wire can be through a hole and then tightened. I personally put banana plugs on all of my speaker wires which make it so much easier to connect to a receiver

Q: QuestionWhat speakers do you recommend for this receiver?
Asked by Lupedd.
- A:Answer Klipsch work great on my receiver
Answered by Popsstar
Q: QuestionDoes receiver have an app to use on your phone to control sound and such?
Asked by Mombo.
- A:Answer Yes it does and the app can control many of the features not just volume. Look for "Yamaha Av Control" app on Google or the apple app store , they have images of what it looks like.

Q: QuestionI have a 8k q900 tv. Can I use this reciever with it and will it affect the quality of the picture if I'm running my cable box through it.
Asked by Hello.
- A:Answer This receiver can 'pass through' 4k video information only. If you want 8k, you'll have to go from cable box straight to tv with hdmi. I dont think there's any 8k content available yet anyway (6/2020).
