This receiver is an absolutely amazing purchase. The sound quality and features it comes with is absolutely amazing. I used to have a Yamaha rx v483 receiver and upgraded to this and wow, it really stands out. This receiver literally does it all. It will have every single feature you could want out of a receiver. I have 4 Polk S60 towers and a Polk s35 center channel speaker running 4 klipsch rp500sa upfiring dolby atmos speakers and a klipsch spl120 subwoofer in a 5.1.4 configuration and it powers everything beautifully. If I play music at - 20 dbs it's loud to the point where your neighbors would hear it, and that's after serious soundproofing and sound deadening in my room. This setup I have sounds better than any home theater at any store as well as any movie theater I have ever been in. 100% clarity, 0% distortion, 100% fidelity on all output levels. If you are new to the audio game, the setup I just gave you that I have is literally the perfect balance of 100% fidelity with 100% loudness, as the Polk tower speakers have a terylene dome tweeter and the klipsch atmos speakers have a much higher efficiency rating VS the Polk tweeters translating to immersive and loud audio without any compromise in fidelity and clarity. My setup is just under being too bright with the highs and the lows from the towers and sub are perfect. This receiver not only obliterates expectations in the music category, gaming and movies will sound unbelievably good as well. You will hear things you've never noticed in movies with this receiver. My last piece of advice, if you are ready to make a big step in the audio game and are already looking to drop 1200+, go all the way and get this. I was looking at the a1080 and the a2080 version of this, but I decided to just go big and get this beast, and sure enough, it was worth it. The extra power as well as features cannot be beaten, especially at this price range. My favorite feature of this?, the fact that I can open Spotify on my phone and play music directly through the app instead of Bluetooth, so the raw file is going to the receiver via wifi instead of Bluetooth, you can turn the receiver on even via Spotify on wifi. That is a win win. Oh and I am running a ac infinity t9 fan on top of it to keep it cool with live temperature monitoring.

Yamaha rx-a 3080 is a very nice receiver has plenty of power the sound is nice. The surround sounds is excellent movies come alive same with music in surround sound it does run a little to warm for me. I did add a store bought fan to keep it nice an cool. So far happy with it.
