    Synopsis

    Your Highness
Pineapple Express co-stars Danny McBride and James Franco reunite for director David Gordon Green's fantasy comedy Your Highness, which sends up such beloved '80s gems as Krull and The Sword and the Sorcerer. Thadeous (McBride) has always stood in the shadow of his older brother, Fabious (Franco), a fearless knight who never met a Minotaur he couldn't slay or a warlord he couldn't defeat. Meanwhile, as Fabious embarked on incredible adventures and returned home to lavish celebrations, Thadeous puffed on wizard's weed, and spent his nights in the company of loose maidens. But Thadeous' life of luxury comes to an abrupt end when powerful wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux) shows up and abducts Fabious' beautiful fiancée, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel). Now threatened with being cut off from the family fortune by his father, the king (Charles Dance), Thadeous reluctantly agrees to join Fabious on a treacherous quest to rescue the fair maiden, and defeat Leezar once and for all. Their voyage to rescue Belladonna will be marked by incredible adventure and unprecedented danger, but together with the help of a fearless warrior named Isabel (Natalie Portman) the two brothers will battle mythical beasts and villainous knights. Meanwhile, as Isabel carries out a clandestine agenda that could place them all in greater danger than they ever imagined, Thadeous struggles to summon his inner warrior and help his noble brother prevent Leezar from using his powers to usher in a terrifying new age of darkness. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

First of all, I'm a huge fan of Danny McBride and was excited to see this movie when released. I enjoy good comedies and will laugh at most things that others turn their noses up at. As far as movies go, I'm not that much of a critic and can enjoy just about anything. That being said, this movie was absolutely atrocious. I decided to check this movie out on the Video on Demand at my house before buying it on blu-ray. I'm so glad I did. I could not force myself to sit through this. I didn't even crack a smile during the first hour that I watched before turning it off. Do yourself a favor, if you really think you want to see this; rent it, don't waste your money on a blu-ray that you probably won't even watch once in its entirety.

As another reviewer pointed out, Your Highness comes "from the same guys who did Pineapple Express" but that movie doesn't compare to this. Your Highness tries too hard, falling below an "average" rating, and for the most part face-plants with most of its humor and storyline. It has its moments of entertainment but it's not one I'd watch again. As for recommending this movie to a friend: I really don't care, but it's not a title that would jump to mind that I'd expressly recommend because I could think of much better, funnier, and more worthy movies to spend your time watching.

The movie is full of great comedy and humor. I personally enjoyed how they would throw in profanities from today mixed into their medevil backdrop. I did expect a bit more from it especially since the two lead actors both rocked Pineapple Express. But this is a much different movie from that same vein. One thing you should know upfront is that this is Not a stoner flick. There are about 3-5 references and thats about it. Definately worth a watch and if you get a kick out of these actors as much as I do then absolutely buy it!

From an interview I read Danny McBride origibally wanted james franco to be a minor character but the studios said no, maybe it derailed their original plans the world may never know, just like most of his work though if you're not in the right mood it might not work out.

Your highness was a great comedy, if you like toilet humor and guys smoking weed, and natalie portman in a thong bikini, well then this is right up your alley. This movie had me laughing so hard and asking did I just see what I think I saw. Great film

I thought this movie was pretty hilarious. The humor is very grotesque and it has a lot of marijuana references, but you should know that coming from the same guys who did Pineapple Express. Great for just watching at home with a beer and some snacks. Not for kids.

The movie had its funny parts but the humor was very juvenile. The movie was advertised to have a digital code but there was none and when I went to Best Buy to replace it I got the another copy without the digital code. Less value.
