Great game that delivers what's promised!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was well reviewed and lives up to the hype. The demo left me eagerly waiting for the 13th of November. The controls are spot-on solid, responsive and easy to master. It is easy to jump in and start playing as the demo is short (everyone will be experts by the game's release, thanks to the demo!) and covers the basics. Graphically, the game does not push the limits as far as the details of renders, textures, etc. but where it does impress is the frame rate at which it renders all the graphical detail and 3-D effects on screen. The lighting effects help lend to the accuracy of the graphics. Not to say the game isn't pretty but all to often the emphasis is more on form and less on function. In this case it is just pretty enough as to not fall apart when the action gets fierce. It truely pulls off the vertigo effect of hieghts and distances. I like the way the screen is decluttered of displays and status bars and maps. Your FOV is open to scan as you run for the best way to avoid automatic weapon fire! It's pretty simple..., the screen starts to fade= you're in trouble; screen fades to black as you fall to the ground=you're dead! Stop taking damage and you'll regenerate. The soundtrack and sound efx are awesome, especially with full surround 5.1, and it is an aid in the gameplay as you can track pursuers audibly. It really sucks to miss the ledge, watch the build windows blur by as you fall 30 stories, and meet the ground below to the sound of every bone in your body crunching!! That sound alone makes you try harder just so you don't have to hear it again. It sucks that you have to register on-line with EA to use any of the on-line stuff, but whatever. Overall, this game is a must have if you like action games or are a fan of free-running. You don't NEED weapons (though you can punk-em away from cops), and there are no monsters to defeat, or giant robots to destroy. Just good ole fast-paced action that's a refreshing take on the first-person action genre.

Don't let this game pass you by
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mirror's Edge is one of the best games I've played all year. The key to it is going in not expecting a first-person shooter (mainly for the fact that you spend very little of your time fighting with guns at all), but expecting an immersive first person action experience. It's all about the run, how fast you did it, and how you got there. The experience is amazing; the graphics and sound are outstanding. The art direction is also truly unique as you travel through the levels, you get visual clues on how to make the next step (or leap, if you will). If you have a good surround sound system, turn it up, because it makes extremely good use out of it. The Controls take some getting use to, but once you learn them, the game controls as smooth as can be. It's also a puzzle game at it's heart too, since many times you'll have to use your mind to figure out the right route to get you to the end of the level safely. With this however does add a bit a trial-and-error process, which could lead to numerous deaths if you're not careful, but checkpoints are plentiful, so don't let that hold you back. My only other gripe is that the story mode is somewhat short, but the bonus Time Trial mode, and EA's promise of good downloadable content keeps the game going. However, don't let that keep you from missing out on one truly unique first-person experience. It's definitely with owning, especially with the several "me-too" titles of recent release. Fantastic game!

The Best Twenty Dollars I have Ever Spent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The is the most immersive RPG that i have ever played. The Story line is amazing and you get thrown right into the action. If you are an Assassins Creed fan then this would be the game for you. I promise it. Some of the levels are a bit difficult to understand sometimes taking a few minutes to about an hour in my case to advance. This will be the best twenty dollars you ever spend on a video game. It has some Parkour Style in it so those in to free running shold enjoy this as well. On the the PS3 with the sixaxis you are able to disarm cops and even balance on the poles which is pretty cool but take lots of practice.

UnderDog!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've played the demo for PS3 and I was blown away! I was reading the description on PSN when I realized this game is probably what I've been waiting for, a game using Parkour! I'm a traceur and practice Parkour because its fun and keeps you in shape and teaches you how to use your body. When I read the description of the game and then played the demo, I was in shock! The gameplay is great! The graphics aren't fpr everyone, their a 2D style kind of cellshaded, but I love it! The no on-screen HUD is great since it feels more realistic. When you run faster the camera shakes and you hear the wind blowing by and your hands and legs moving faster and faster in the picture. This game may not have the star power or high profile release status as many of the other games that came out this month or in the future, but it is definately worth buying, and that make it a true Underdog!

Great Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game gets 5 Stars in my book. The reason this game gets 5 stars are as follows. 1- Graphics are great! 2- This game is highly uniqe as I have never played anything like it before! 3- The story line is great 4- The difficulty can range from very easy to normal to hard 5- You will have difficulty putting it down So basicly the outlinie of this game is as follows: You are a "RUNNER", your job is to find ways to run from rooftop to rooftop inside and outside of buildings. You have to move fast to get away from the COPS. If you confront a cop you can take the weapon and fight but in this game it is best to run. The levels can be puzzling sometimes, trying to figure out how get from rooftop to rooftop, or inside venelation sysems, or turning off and on valves and/or climbing pipes. This is a great game. This game is incredible price for the game.

Excellent Game!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game less than a week ago and it's great! It is very original and the color scheme is excellent. I was blown away by how they made the whole game look so kool with the touch of a color and the rest of the place being white. Also the graphics are not that bad and everything is clear. The difficulty of the game is somewhat challenging at times. It is not an easy game but it is not very hard either. The storyline is also pretty good. This game is definitely worth buying, especially for only 20 dollars. WOW! that's something you cannot turn down. 20 bucks for a great game, it does not get better than this. I hope they make a second one, but i do not know how they would improve since it is already so good, but it will be kool to have a second one. I'll definitely recommend this game.

Fast and Fun with an attitude
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is fast first person platformer. A fresh new adaptation of true and tried platforming. Rather than moving slowly and timing the jump from the edge. Speed is what counts here. You need to be moving at a constant speed to kick open doors, catch a drop wire etc. etc. Every thing is setup for constant nonstop movement. The level designs are so perfect; once you get hang of controls there is no need to stop. The game takes you through roof tops, A/C vents, malls, office walk ways and lots of other varied setups. At every stage there are multiple paths to move forward. There is a lot of freedom and it is tied well with risks. It may take some time to get a handle on the game. Once you pickup the controls and nail jumps it is very addictive.

Let's get Running!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say about this game---it's a perfect action game. First of all this is not a FPS although there are at time where you can use a gun (but you have to take it out of the enemies own hands) the base of the game is to get from point A to points B,C and D while evading the enemy. The game has very smooth controls. Also this game will keep you on your toes and on the edge of your set at all times. You might need an oxygen mask cause this game is going to make you hold your breath from start to finish. So why are you reading this? Get off the computer get in your car and go buy this game cause it's one heck of a rollercoster ride. One more thing you are going to go splat alot at times but just keep at it and you'll do fine.
