Pleasantly Surprised Posted by: from: on At first I wasn't sure if I would still be having fun designing rooms over and over again but I find myself putting a lot of thought in trying to design rooms for these cute little animals and so far the animals provide a pretty good variety of what each one wants, keeping the game interesting and sometimes challenging me in using a style I'm not familiar with. The game also has you designing the interior of different buildings like a school or a store and this helps change things up a bit. You use the touch screen primarily to do things like moving furniture around and navigating the menus and I personally prefer this because if you had to push the furniture around like in traditional Animal Crossing games then it would take much longer to design rooms and it would be way more frustrating, but you can still do that if you want, the game lets you use either method. I was also relieved to find out that the amiibo cards aren't required to play the game, they're only used if you want to design a house for a specific animal or if you want to invite them over to another animal's house you designed, otherwise the animals you design for show up randomly. Overall I'd say the game is a lot better than I thought it would be, the only minor complaints I have is that you don't get to walk around the village where the animals live, you just pick which animal to visit through a menu, and you have to turn in for the night and save after designing for each project, to me it seems weird that you can only do one project a day before having to save and wait for it to load the next day (in-game day, not real time).

hmmm what to say Posted by: from: on so I have not gotten to far yet in the game but the player should not expect Animal Crossing and most know and like it. sure you have the little animals with there little flapping mouths chatting to you but not really the freedom to go different places or do different things, it is almost like going to work in real life! so yes you get to designing peoples insides of there homes to make them feel good and you get hints on what they like so you pick and place items around the house. as you play you get bigger areas to decorate and I believe you get to decorate the outside at some point too. for some reason it feels slow moving... like sitting a real work does sometimes. so if what you like about the Animal Crossing games is moving stuff around the house and making it look different then this game is for you, but if you liked going from house to house talking to the different animals and making Bells then it might not be so fun.

Awesome, play when you want, game Posted by: from: on Since Happy Home designer does not use real life time, it's more of a relaxed, play when you want game. It doesn't require you to play everyday and I enjoy that in this spin off of Animal Crossing

Not as fun as new leaf Posted by: from: New Jersey on This games goes to far in one direction and this should be part of a main animal crossing game... maybe the next one will include all this in it

Another Nintendo gem Posted by: from: on My daughters review: I like it because I like helping animals and you are making homes for and designing homes for the animals to live in.
