Great cable, Bad software Posted by: from: on The cable itself worked great. Connected my SSD just fine for a clone. The software was a little difficult to surf through (software screen went black after a bit) but once I got the transfer started it didn't matter. All in all I was able to clone my hard drive to my new SSD without any other issues.

Extremely usefull Posted by: from: on I've tried before the Easy Gig downloaded from the website, but guess that version was limited in features which forced me to run the process several times. Glad that I've made the decision to purchase this one, as it made the cloning process easier and without errors. Definitely worth the money!!

Apricorn Transfer Posted by: from: on After attempting to use the built-in tools in Windows to create a backup and restore option with no success, I looked for an alternative. This device looked promising, so I decided to give it a try. Not only did it work flawlessly for me twice in 2 days, but the process took only about 20 minutes, as opposed to hours using the Windows tools. I will no doubt use this many times in the near future, and I expect that I will have no problems then either.

Excellent option to try and save data Posted by: from: on Excellent option to try and save data on a bad hard drive. I was able to save most of my pictures, music, files, and data. Super easy, just plug in like an external hard drive and that was it. Strongly recommend trying this cheap option before ditching/giving up on your potential lost files.

SATA to USB Product--We're All Mad Here Posted by: from: on Yup, the horrific technical potential of your laptop as the permanent scribe of your family history--dogs, cats, children, wedding, graduations or possibly even contact with loving grandparents from the afterlife, has succumbed to the silicon version of death. It's body lies helplessly before you and all efforts to bring it back to life (even during the Easter or Passover seasons) have failed. Even when plugged into its personal and loving AC adaptor it will never light up again to brighten your family history. But it has a soul. It's memories and algorithmic love of your family via intimate association with its fervent and dedicated internal hard drive have an embodied afterlife of sorts. And, with this cable, you can access the soul of your deceased laptop. It's fond and valuable memories can live on another computer as transferred files. This transformative process will require surgery, so to speak. It will be necessary to remove the still beating heart of your dead laptop in the form of its hard drive for connection to the above mentioned cable. Then all that has to be done is connect the laptop soul (hard drive) to the transformative cable, plug the USB side of the cable into the soul-sucking working computer, and transfer the files. The sun will once gain shine bright on your family history, the angels will sing--if you know the file structure of the beating heart hard drive. Peace...

Data Lifesaver Posted by: from: on This is a data lifesaver. If your pc fails to light up, this cable can retrieve anything you'd like to remove off your hard drive before you send the pc off for repairs.

Errors in transfer Posted by: from: on Tried twice to transfer OS and files from one SS Drive to a larger SS Drive. Both attempts resulted errors in Windows registry 10 files not transfered over. Would not open any window type programs. Had to have computer tech at work mirror drive and transfer it over with no issues.

Couldn't believe how well it worked. Posted by: from: on I've had bad experiences with drive cloners. It seems no matter what, the cloned drive will have problems. I purchased this alongside a 480gb ssd to put in a new laptop I purchased. Of course, the laptop did not have a restoration disc or even a Windows 8.1 licence key anywhere on the bottom (I could have downloaded the Windows 8.1 installer directly from Microsoft website and loaded it this way). It was purely on the recovery partition. Originally I was only going to clone the recovery partition but I figured it would save me time to do the entire drive if it worked. So I just cloned everything. And I have to be honest, I am surprised how easy it was and how well everything works. It's been almost a month and I have been using the laptop for gaming and work.I have had ZERO issues. The SSD vs the 5400RPM hard drive that was in it is like night and day. Load and boot times are fast. Battery life appears to have increased if only a little bit since the SSD's are less power hungry that the HDDs of old. If you need a good cloner, believe it or not, this is it. Get it.
