Good but short. Posted by: from: Bossier City, LA on The controls and play of the game are good as they are almost identical to that of Black Flag. The story was interesting but short. I inadvertently finished it sooner than I would have liked. The last couple of missions are "on rails" as you have to follow someone and reach certain points and one leads into the next without a breaking point that you could go back to later. So I found myself at the end of the story a little unexpected. I just thought there would be more missions to follow. I did enjoy the game but it seemed more like a DLC add-on for Black Flag than a stand alone.

A fitting end to the America's trilogy Posted by: from: on Rogue takes some of the best elements from the series to date, and combines them to make what amounts to be a pretty good game. Renovations for income are back, the land and sea aspects are better balanced and more useful, the map is bigger, the gameplay is more diverse in that you can play the way you want to, and the story is pretty riveting, if short in comparison. Not a fan of the ship stuff, but it's better than it was in Black Flag. I think the stalkers are a cool mechanic, but can be incredibly annoying and frustrating sometimes. Plundering ships is still pretty annoying, but it's much more useful this time around. And when compared to it's launch buddy Unity, it's a much more entertaining and glitch-free game. Overall, it's a satisfying end to the America's trilogy. Still not as good as the Ezio trilogy, but its a solid purchase.

Very Similar to AC IV Posted by: from: on AC Rogue is set up very similar to AC IV: Black Flag, except you're traveling a different area in your ship and a different story line. Overall a good addition to the AC lineup, but nothing extraordinarily new.

great game, great story! Posted by: from: Tampa on Love everything about this game! It's what unity should have been!

Rogue was good but Posted by: from: on It was like a re-skinned, Black Flag. There was not any new gameplay since. Playing a Templar was interesting but not enough so to qualify as a standalone game. It could have been released as DLC for Black Flag.

Good but familiar game Posted by: from: on First let me say that I am a huge fan of the AC series. I have played every console game beginning with the very first AC, with the exception of Unity. While this game continues in the great tradition of the AC series, it really doesn't introduce anything new from AC3 or Black Flag. You have the free-running in the wilderness, naval battles, same types of missions. That's not to say this isn't a good game. The story is excellent, although the present day sections really amount to little more than solving puzzles and a scavenger hunt. If you are a completionist like I am, you will easily spend 20-30 hours on this game. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, or anyone who is already a fan of the series.
