The kids love it! Posted by: from: on More money than I would have liked to spend, but bought 1 each for 2 kids and they love them. Graphics are great. Screen looks very good. Operations are fast. Very neat looking laptop. Big and heavy, but have not heard any complaints. They have had no problems having the PCs on their laps. Temperature also has not been a problem. Seems like the venting design works well. Will read the manual to find out for sure, but 1 strange thing may be 2 rubber plugs tethered by very thin plastic tywraps are supposed to be pulled out of the rear vents when the PC is in use to allow cooling and then put back in after use to prevent dust from getting in. My concern is that the kids will forget to pull them out when in use and then cause overheating. Also the very thin tethers seem likely to break and then the plugs could be lost.

Works Great! Posted by: from: on I purchased this computer for photography. I have not had the time to get it fully running but so far everything is working great. I mainly purchased it for the way it handles graphics and how the monitor stays consistently one brightness no matter where you view it from. The only down side, and the reason it didn't get 5 stars, is that it did not come with a Blue Ray DVD as advertised. Then when I went to look at the original wording on the specs it was taken off. Kind of a bait and switch. But I see there were other complaints on this same issue. If it's in writing that is what you get, then that's what you should get. Not worth messing with so I kept this one. I'm sure it would work fantastic for gamers but it will never have a game played on it with me. If games come in Blue Ray then it would be a problem. It is a great computer for handling my portraits and sports photography. It gets 5 stars for performance.

Awesome Gaming laptop Posted by: from: on It is a spectacular laptop! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is b/c the build quality could be better as far as some of the plastic used on the bottom half. The edge where your wrists rest is very sharp, making it uncomfortable. Finally the fact that the lighting on the keyboard cannot be changed. Other than that, is an excellent machine!

Awesome Gaming Laptop! Posted by: from: Seabrook TX on This is the second laptop and I am just as happy as I was with the first one. This one however looks much nicer than last years model. Bought it for my son and he is super happy with it. Fast, fast, fast! All game settings are on the max and it does not even flinch! Not sure why the last guy gave it 1 star as that is not fair for this laptop at all.

mouse pad Posted by: from: mobile, al on Just got the laptop today, I like the large screen, and it can handle Entropia Universe on very high settings, so I am really happy, game looks awesome compared to 5 years of safety mode due to old laptop. The touch pad on this is a work in progress. I haven't figured it out yet, 1 tap starts the process, but seem to have to double tap everything. and use 2 figures to scroll. myabe somethign im missing there, so not dockin for that

What can I say, other than ASUS ROG Laptop Posted by: from: on This laptop is amazing for the price you're paying. Packs alot of features and a smaller price tag. This is my third Asus Rog Laptop and I have no complaints. Will continue to use them as along as that keep up to this standard. Upgrade slots are easily accessible and gaming on ultra setting has been very enjoyable. Didn't notice much lag or screen freezing during my 4-6 game sessions.

Black Screen Issues Posted by: from: on I bought this laptop about a month ago. The first day I started it everything worked fine. About a week after having it, the screen did not turn on every time it powered on. After about 1 to 3 hard restarts it begin to work normally. I read online that this was a driver issue with Nvidia and Win10, but I have yet to find a fix. Up until now I just deal with it. everything works great on the computer besides the minor issue with the display. Definitely a great computer for gamers and computer enthusiasts who also want to be mobile with out losing the power of a desktop.

Great picture, tons of RAM - processor lags a bit Posted by: from: on I got this unit to do CAD drafting and 3D modeling with the ability to take the laptop to client meetings and onsite. A little heavy to lug around - still need to get a larger monitor for daily drafting. Apparently the trade-off is processor speed for memory. I occasionally notice a lag drafting big files with a lot of hatch or fill. Overall I am very happy with it - if I had another grand to put down I would up the processor speed.

I got it for the Graphics Card... Still Awesome. Posted by: from: on 4/5 Stars: I really don't like Win 10. I think it's a buggy garbage OS and would happily go back to 8.1 and it's tablet-y UI if I was certain all of my device drivers were compatible. Win 10 Explorer crashes on a brand new computer... WHY?! Other than that, computer is amazing 10/10 would buy Asus ROG again. My original search query was "GTX 970M" because that was the advised graphics card for VR development. It's something I'm going to get into in the near future, so I needed a workhorse that was up to spec. The Intel SkyLake processor, 16GB ddr4 RAM, and 1TB HD were icing. This beast is on the cutting edge (as of early 2016) within the $2,000 on LAPTOPS. (Before the desktop people scream at their monitors, I'm well aware of what can be accomplished with less tthan $1500 and some know-how) This is my third Asus ROG laptop since 2011. First was death by "Free Repair by Friend" after the power jack started loosening, second was passed off to my Lil Bro after hard drive crashed and wiped. Hopefully I won't need to replace this powerhouse for another 3-5 years... Laptops are getting expensive.
