Nice Entry Level Turntable
Posted by: TheDeadWalk13 from: on
Numerous positive online reviews led me to the Audio-Technica LP 60 turntable. This product is good for someone whose looking for a fairly inexpensive turntable that offers better quality than other record players in the same price range. Being fully automatic makes it easy to operate. It's built in pre amp means no need for an external one. All you'll need is this turntable, speakers, and a source that has a phono, line, aux, even CD input and you're on your way to enjoying the vinyl experience. Everything one needs is in the box. There is some minor assembly required in terms of attaching the belt to the pulley and placing the platter. The sound quality is really dependent on your source. Mine is connected to a home theater reciever through the CD input and it sounds fine to me. So if one is looking for a really sweet, reasonable priced turntable, give the Audio-Technica LP 60 a spin.

A Next Gen Turntable
Posted by: Albuquerque12904 from: on
This is a good basic turntable for a good price without a lot of bells and whistles--just 4 buttons and a lever control all the action. It can be hooked up in the traditional way--to an amp--OR hooked up to powered speakers OR hooked up to anything that has a 3.5mm stereo input; Audio Technica supplies ALL necessary connecting cords so you don't have to buy them separately. You couldn't do this with the previous generation of turntables--it's truly a multipurpose piece of audio equipment. The mechanical action is smooth and positive. Instructions are clear and provide all necessary cautions for a 5-minute setup; be sure to READ FIRST to avoid an obvious but avoidable mistake.

Excellent quality for the price

This is a seriously rad product. Sounds way better than any other turntable at this price point. To top it off, it's a smaller turntable (under 15" wide) and fit into my antique rebuilt cabinet that was nearly impossible to find something to fit, so it's truly perfect for me. Only complaint is with Best Buy themselves, who experienced delays in the shipping but put forth ZERO effort to update me at any step of the way until I complained long and loud. Customer service is a pretty important part of any online purchase, and they were severely lacking...BUT the turntable rules.

Rejuvenating my old LPs to Mp3s
Posted by: RassaFrassinSassafrass from: Racine, WI on
Speaker hookup was easy, PC hookup was easy, the price was right and the sound is good (as long as you keep your records clean)!
I have a lot of LPs from back when they were the main method of music delivery. They have been in storage for about 20 years and then I found this turntable and I'm listening to them again - in the den and on my iPod.
I can even pick up new music on LP - it's been awhile since I did that.
A few quick and simple connections and this turn table was tied into my media-PC and the rediscovery process was underway. After 1 album, I'd found the software settings (Audacity# that worked best for me. You really have to listen to music on LP to understand why analog really is better than digital.
Granted, if the album you are listening to was recorded digitally, it may not be much of any difference from the CD, but if you have older analog recordings #or newer) then this is well worth the modest investment.

Purchased for a newbie of the vinyl appreciation set. Connected easily to component system. Great sound. Was exciting to watch a 30-something generation explain to his friend about how a turnable operated. Definitely would recommend to anyone who loves to hear music the way it should be played.

Soo good to have a turntable again

After a long while w/o a TT, I couldn't take it anymore and purchased the Audio-Technica. Very nice and I'm glad I did. Plays beautifully, is compact, looks well made and does the job. I'm pleased so far. Just get it and play on to the wee hours of the morning if like me you have a stack of LPs and haven't enjoyed them for lack of a TT.

Overall good unit for the price
Posted by: FlDinosaur from: Brevard County, FL on
I don't play records often but still needed a replacement for my old turntable and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg. It is stylish enough for me and it's workings are simple.
I read on one review somewhere somebody didn't like the sound out of it. Somewhat depends on the needle quality but pretty much depends on the speakers. Like I said I have an old Pioneer system with 3 foot tall speaker cabinets with 2 speakers in each. Sounded great for me.
Actually came two days earlier than promised.

Works great, plays a little fast
Posted by: Beach23 from: on
Everything about this TT is great, the quality, look, the fact that it's automatic. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it spins the records just a hair too fast. Some people might not even notice, but I'm a very picky listener. I returned mine and upgraded to the AT- LP120 and am very happy that I did. Excellent decision, my advice is to spend the extra couple hundred bucks and get a much better TT that will last forever and sound amazing.

Got this player as a gift for a friend, have one myself and love it so much. silver color looks incredible, the thing is extremely inexpensive and still feels premium and looks beautiful. Comes with the necessary adapters for plugging into your own speakers with ease, highly recommended.
