Awesome Co-op and Multiplayer Posted by: from: on Battleborn is a ton of fun to play! It has a great variety of characters and the campaign is super entertaining, even more fun when you play it co-op. I love that it has split screen co-op, not too many games doing that nowadays. The graphics while cartoony, are very appropriate for this title with it's humorous undertone. The multiplayer is also fantastic and will give you more then your moneys worth in replayability. I bought Battleborn with my Gamers Club unlocked so I got it for only $48 which is a steal for a new game! My son and I are loving it and I highly recommend it to anyone on the fence.

Spectacular! Posted by: from: on A unique game among the current offerings. Is it a MOBA? Sort of! Is it a FPS? Yeah, kind of! Is it a co-op hack and slash? In a manner of speaking! Does it do all of those things extraordinarily well? Heck yes! And it has a great sense of humor, typical of Gearbox. Worth every penny.

Different is better Posted by: from: on Most would compare this game with Overwatch. A game which I got tired of quickly. This game has a story mode which you can share online, my only concern is that the number of players online is diminishing even before the possible release of a DLC. It's on sale so if you are in the mood, not a bad game to have in your collection.

Fun if you like FPS Posted by: from: on There is a huge debate between this game and several other FPS games out there. I personally loved this game and its variety of heros. They have unique personalities and lore which can affect minor aspects of the missions such as dialog. While this game is made by the Borderlands team it is not a Borderlands game. It has a similar feel because of the art style and introduction of bosses and mini bosses. The characters range in the best game mode to play them. By which I mean some characters in PVP are not as good as others. Some characters while damage dealers do not do as much damage as others or burst damage against other players but can eliminate minions easier. Main game modes: Story: A episodic adventure that is chosen before the match. Unless you play a custom game there is a voting system, so if you need one specific map you may not receive it. PVP: 3 different mode types: Capture the flag / base. Siege, against large bosses. Escort / Destroy match.

Falls Very Short of Expectations Posted by: from: on "Searching for teammate... Searching for opponent..." is what my friends and I spend half our night waiting for since the game/developer network can't seem to find any players to join in our battle. Not sure what makes this game so special that it takes 10 times as long to match players up when compared to all other MOBA games ever made. Very disappointing and very frustrating at times, especially when players decide to leave your party/team just because the majority didn't vote for their map or choose the right combination of characters

Meh Posted by: from: on With two high profile shooters coming out around the same time, I was going by single-player campaign. Overwatch was pretty up front about not having it, that the whole game was online multiplayer... That's great if you like multiplayer, but I'm not really a big fan. I just like to shoot stuff at my own pace, because frankly I'm just not that good. So I look at Battleborn, and see that they advertise a single player campaign mode. AWESOME! I'll tell ya, not so awesome... I plugged away at the first mission, spent a pretty good two hours to finally make my way to the Boss. I keep plinking away at him, and have him just under three quarters of the way down when a timer starts counting down! Yup, even though there was nothing said about a mission clock, I timed out. No progress saved. Go right back to the start. Hey, if you like multiplayer, I'm sure this will be great fun. If you're looking for single player action, where you can stop and save progress because things keep happening in the real world, you might wanna keep looking.

A game for those of us burnt out on call of duty Posted by: from: on battleborn could be best described as a jack of all trades but master of none, blending many different genres together in one package it delivers in most ways but still falls short of greatness. The biggest flaw is the lack of content in the game, 8 cooperate/single player missions and 3 multiplayer competitive modes with 6 maps just isn't enough content in my opinion. Player through as different characters (24 in all) is enjoyable and what's here is very good but I would have traded characters for more maps/missions. That said battleborn is a joy to play with friends or alone and once you start unlocking characters you'll be hooked.

Review Based on Closed Technical Test Posted by: from: on NOTE: As part of the closed technical test, I can review only the parts that were available at time of the test. Story mode - Story mode was exciting. It has some of the standards when it comes to bosses. You get the boss' health down to 75% and he leaves sending in more minions, then you go find him. They will do this multiple times before being able to finish him off. The ability to purchase in-game "mercs", drones only so far, is nice, as they will point you to minions that seem to be lost and also have enough fire power to have your back. The in-game turret purchases are nice as well and very useful. I really enjoyed the sarcastic ramblings ISIC Reported Feature in Story mode - The fact that I can start Story mode as one character, and change as often as I like without having to start over with the new character is a very interesting twist. Multiplayer - MELTDOWN type - I like the mix of FPS (First Person Shooter) and MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game mechanics. It puts a nice twist on the normal PvP Capture the Flag, Domination, and Free-for-All. Meltdown was the only Multiplayer type we got in this test. Overall - The new Helix system, which allows you to build your character in-game depending on the needs of the situation, is a great way to test different build-outs to see what works best for you. Along with the Helix system for in-game building, there are gear load-outs for pregame configurations that can be used in game to do everything from buffing your character and buffing other teammates to Nerfing your opponents and dropping a grenade upon dying. Summary - Story mode was fun. Multiplayer has some great twists and will be a majority of my game play. The new in-game character building is probably my favorite aspect of the game. I like what they have done with game. It will be take up many hours of my future.

Not a Fan, traded it in almost immediately Posted by: from: Virginia on Picked the game up because it was compared to Borderlands, but I was turned off immediately. Internet required to play, matchmaking was slow, way too many cutscenes and long loading times. The gameplay was ok, but not good enough to overshadow the negatives.

Very disappointed Posted by: from: on Coming from the same developers of the Borderlands series, I expected a much better game. It suffers from too many characters that do not have the same core abilities. Their basic movements, ability to use both long range and close combat attacks are unbalanced. The enemies have little to no AI and simply respawn over and over again. Every stage has the same goals, survive and protect. The upgrades are reset for every level and do not carry over. This leaves you running to find a safe spot to select your upgrades in the middle of a battle. The upgrades seem to do almost nothing to aid your character in most situations. If playing split screen with someone, be prepared to sit close. The map dominates most of the screen and leaves you no option to change from horizontal to vertical screen. This game was a real disappointment for me. I haven't played in weeks.
