Love my Fitbit One
Posted by: craftygirl from: on
I started with the Fitbit zip, which I loved it worked great for a year but eventually after replacing the battery the back got worn out. So I upgraded to a wrist one which did not work for me as I use my hands a lot at work and it calculated that I had walked twice as many steps as I did. so I took it back and got the Fitbit one which works great, holds a charge and when the battery is low I plug it in over night and it ready to go in the morning. I wear it everyday and only charge it once a month!

Great step & sleep tracker with iPhone 5
Posted by: eddie01 from: Menifee, CA on
Just bought this fitbit & I definitely like it. It seems to be very accurate with the floors I climbed as I kept track on my own. The syncing with the iPhone app works great and have not had issues yet. I will continue to evaluate and if I have any issues I will update. The sleep feature seems pretty good but I have to try it a few times before I can decide if its accurate. The band were you slip your fitbit when you go to sleep is very comfortable so no issues there.

Perfect tracking package
Posted by: SKS27 from: Pearl River, LA on
I've used other fitness devices and I've had this one for a week now. The device is great but really it is just the main piece to a great package. The website and mobile app are just plain perfect. I do P90X and I wear a heart rate monitor during those workouts. The fitbit software allows you to create custom workouts and you can adjust the calorie burn each time you log your workout. You can also create custom meals for easy meal logging. Being able to look at my current status on my iPhone at anytime as well as log meals or activity from there is just great. Takes all the mystery out of your calorie tracking. I love it.

This is more comfortable and convenient to wear discreetly under clothes to bra as I don't like wearing anything on my wrist all day. I had the unattractive Fitbit charge HR which I wore every but had to send back because the strap started bubbling. It also became dirty which couldn't be cleaned. This one is simple, seems more accurate in counting steps, and has the features that I actually use...don't need caller ID on a fitness tracker.

I like it, but I don't love it.
Posted by: murrill from: jacksonville, nc on
At the end of the day I know how many steps I took, how many stairs I climbed, and the number of miles I walked. I do not, however, have a lot of confidence in all of the "calories burned" totals. I do spin classes & have to wear it on my shoe to get a good count. It hardly measures calories burned during Body Pump. There have been occasional glitches: 1100 calories burned during my sleep, from midnight to 7:00 AM? 52 flights of stairs climbed on the elliptical? The device is held in a flimsy rubber clip that has become less reliable in a month, so I expect I will lose it before it is over. Also, it does not sync with my android phone, which is annoying. I think I have gleaned the activity information that is useful to me, so I will not need to replace it when it expires.

Fitbit Redefines the Fitness Experience
Posted by: Chris from: on
The Fitbit One is a discrete, excellent device. I received my first Fitbit device (Fitbit One) as a Christmas gift. Since then, I have gifted 3 to other friends and co-workers.
Fitbit's platform is geared towards making "moving around" more fun and accountable to friends, family, and even strangers. The website and mobile application are user friendly and easy to understand. The device itself is small, and has a great battery life that exceeds 1 week. Fitbit has since became a publicly traded company, and continually develops new ways to engage with other Fitbit users in your local community.
The drawbacks of the device are primarily found in the carrying cases available. The clip, while designed well, has a very short shelf life if used often, and its malfunction can ultimately lead to the misplacement of the device. The arm band is too wide for such a small device in my opinion.
Overall, I enjoy the perks and accountability that Fitbit has created with their devices. You can cheer on your friends and family, and you can even taunt them daring them to do better. I hope they come out with a new generation of the Fitbit One.

Great fitness tracker
Posted by: Cherisews from: Northern California on
I have had my bit for about 3 weeks now, and I love it. It is pretty accurate. I have watched the screen and the fitbit matches me step for step. I figure it is accurate to within 200 feet per day, which is about 100 steps (depending on stride length).
The clip is very secure. I put my bit on in the morning and it doesn't budge an inch until I take it off at night. I keep my bit attached to my bra strap. I feel I am less likely to knock it off during the day or throw it in the washing machine. If you are going to wear it somewhere where you move or bend a lot like your waist band, I would recommend getting a tether for it. The clip is pretty good, but there is just too much movement in that part of the body for the clip to hold on.
I love that it records my sleep. When I go to bed at night, I put the bit in the soft wrist band provided for this purpose and start the timer. The band comfortable and It doesn't interfere with my sleep. My fitbit tells me when I go to sleep, how long it took me to fall asleep, how many times I woke up in the night, and when I woke up in the morning. It then gives me a sleep efficiency rating. I am learning a lot about my sleep patterns and how much sleep I need to feel human the next day.
The silent alarm is awesome. I have always hated being startled awake by my alarm clock in the morning, it just strikes me as a rotten way to start my day. The bit vibrates against my wrist, which for me is a much more gentle way to wake up. It helps me start my day in a more pleasant state of mind.
Most importantly, find it helps keep me motivated. It encourages me to move more every day. I find myself going for walks after dinner just so I can reach my step and floor goals, or to get that next badge. My husband just told me he can already see a difference in my appearance. He says I look more toned and that my waist is more defined. Woo-hoo!
My fitbit is awesome!

Great device for tracking daily movement
Posted by: EugeneS from: Chicago, IL on
I absolutely love my fitbit. It accurately tracks my movement throughout the day and easily links to MyFitnessPal app. I've worn it while also using some GPS tracking apps and seen similar steps/distance results.
My only issue with the fitbit is that it is easy to lose and there are no "lost alarms" or anything that you can sound off if lost. Also, if you don't have an iPhone, you have to upload your fitness info by syncing with a computer which is annoying if you don't sit at a computer all day.
Overall, I love it... just wish it could sync wirelessly with my Galaxy 3.

I like it
Posted by: Douglas911 from: Sturgis, SD on
I had two of the previous fitbits. Both broke by catching and then splitting the case in two. This one is much better built and it has a rubber holder that protects it so much better. I guess since this is my third one, it should tell you how important I think this thing is. Also had to buy one for the wife. She gets on the computer several times a day to post her food she has eaten and see how many calories she has that she can still eat for the day. It is a good product and it has motivated me to get out and walk more. I park farther from the door when I shop. All to get in a few more steps. This is a good thing.

Hate The Redesign
Posted by: SamiB from: Northeastern Ohio on
I owned the original Fitbit and I loved it. I wore it all day and slept with it every night. It never fell off of my pocket. NEVER. I actually wore it out. When I went to the store to buy another, the only clip on choice was this model. I have had issues with it staying clipped on my pocket from day one. I tried my waistband. No better. The original was just more sturdy and I never had to be concerned about it falling off. Well today it happened. It fell off and this time I didn't hear it hit the ground, as I usually do. So I am now out $100. The original had a docking station that sat on my desk and everything was just easier. I will certainly purchase another activity tracker, but it absolutely will not be this model.
