Q: Do I need to use distilled water?
A: No, but depending on usage and/or water hardness, you would need to use distilled white vinegar (2 cups) weekly or every other week to prevent minerals clogging the mist discharge.
Q: Is this available in store or online only?
A: I found it at my local best buy store. It is awesome humidifier. Bought for elderly father. Lightweight and very simple to operate.
A: This was a main factor in me picking this humidifier, and it takes around 50 minutes to clean for for 40 of those minutes you're just waiting while the cleaning is happening, It's very simple, and this humidifier comes with videos from the company on how to clean it, which I really liked.
Q: How do you clean it out ? vinegar or clorox ?
A: Every week or 2 weeks depending on usage and water hardness: 2 cups of distilled white vinegar (full strength) - shake top part; connect with bottom part and let liquid flow to bottom reservoir, then let sit for 15 to 20 minutes; the second part is to use bleach (separately from the vinegar treatment) - 1 teaspoon with half gallon of water (same as vinegar procedure) - it's on the instruction manual.
Q: Can I use essential oil mix with water in the humidifier?
A: No it says you can not in the Manuel

A: It is good for small. For my room that is 140 ft it can reach 30% only when working at max settings
