The vacumm has a design flaw at the interface between the dirt canister and the hose/floor gasget. the canister can twist slightly creating a air gap which effectively eliminates the suction to the wand or floor. Noticed this after about 6 weeks when the vacumm had hardly any suction.

We bought this one because of how versatile it is! It does anything and everything. Has a long cord which is nice, very lightweight, great suction power, amazing extensions to reach high ceilings, and easy to clean. We couldn't afford a Dyson so this was what we got and it's a great alternative, HIGHLY recommend it. The price is not bad, wish I would've bought it on sale or something but for everything it does and how it cleans I can't complain. You can't adjust height for carpet but I don't need it and I just use one of the tools to clean bare floor. Another great feature is it is NOT a loud vacuum. It does not scare my 1 year old so she loves it and even helps me vacuum sometimes! Can't go wrong with it!!!

Hoover - The Old Trusty
Posted by: Parcheco from: on
This vacuum gives Dyson vacuum owners a run for their money. It makes vacuuming effortless and fun, yet has the same suction power and costs comparatively less than some high end brands. A more expensive model does not necessarily translate to a better product. Hoover - maintaining a stellar reputation and consistently turning out quality products!

Great for the price point
Posted by: Averagejoe35 from: on
I didn't want to spend 250 on a vacuum. Went in to best buy while these were on sale and actually went for the nicer one with all of the attachments. I seen how little this was and with multiple stairs that's a huge plus. Has good suction. This model doesn't swivel which I hate that feature anyways. For the price point it does way more than expected and am happy with my purchase. The more expensive one has a an attachment that folds for fan blades which I would like to have had.

Powerful little machine

I bought this vacuum cleaner because my old vacuum (about 6 years old) just wouldn't do the job anymore.
One of the problems I have is that my hair is very long and very thick. That creates problems for the roller so I'm constantly having to clean it. But, now, even though I keep the roller free of my hair, it just doesn't have any sucking power left.
For several months I'd noticed that I just wasn't getting a good cleaning.
Finally, after having the ceiling fan in the master bedroom replaced today, and trying to vacuum up the mess, I became so frustrated, I drove to Best Buy and decided to buy this vacuum (I had spent about an hour reading reviews and checking features on all the vacuums before I made my decision).
I got the vacuum home and found that it was easy to put together (less than 5 minutes) and very, very light to maneuver.
Then, I vacuumed the entire house. I had to dump the dirt catcher 3 times! It just goes to show just how bad the other vacuum had become. Of course, all brand new vacuums work this well. The real test will be time. I'll update this after I've had it and used it for a few months.
By the way, I have two issues with it: 1) the attachment doesn't stay on; and 2) I haven't been able to get the rollers to adjust for the thickness of the carpet.

lightweight, easy to maneuver

i bought this because we had a 2 ton kirby vacuum which i HATED. i wanted something light and easy to maneuver, but didn't want to pay for a dyson. i like the way the features are attached/utilized and it gets the job done. best vacuum i've ever owned.

Stop! Don't buy it!
Posted by: Cattybiz from: on
Bought one and loved it. Great suction. Then the hose pulled out of it. Exchanged for another one. Hoping I got a faulty vacuum. The next one lasted 50 days. The first one lasted 8 days. Same thing. Hose pulled out. Not glued in well at all. I'm sure that's why they have an updated model now. Do not buy. Not worth the hassle. Got store credit.

Great light weight vacuum.

This vacuum is great for carpets. I have a two bedroom apartment that needed vacuuming bad. This did the job with very few passes. The suction is strong and the weight is just right if needing to carry it up stairs. No bags needed so that's even better. Would recommend to anyone.

Lots of power, but not well made
Posted by: GaleJ from: Roanoke, VA on
It has good suction and is very light weight which is why I purchased it. It did pretty good on the area rugs by was kind of awkward on my hardwoods I have all over the house. I have a cat so I also needed it for cleaning my uphostered furniture. It did an okay job, but the hose keep coming out of the end piece (the one you unplug from the bottom and plug into you hose to use it). It was like the glue melted. It was sticky. I screwed it back in three times and finally put rubber bands on it until I could finish cleaning. The next day I returned it to Best Buy and purchased a different one.

Pretty good but missing features
Posted by: psiddy from: North Carolina on
I have used a few cheaper bagless models over the years, maybe I've gotten used to those but this being my first hoover I was expecting better things. This is priced midway between a dyson and a cheapo so you would expect carpet height adjustment but this does not. As this is the bottom of the range air model they decided to leave it out, the next model up has an auto height adjust. Also missing is one of those small rotating brush upholstery attachments which the next models have. This is the 1st vac I've used where the handle also acts as a tube/wand and is removeable from the unit. Although a nice idea the problem is it makes the handle wobbly when you push & pull the vac, such a design can never have a solid feel. Also due to it being a tube the handle end is an open tube with a not very rounded edge, not very comfortable if you want to hold it by the end of the handle which you may prefer but its nice you can adjust the handle height. The included tool feels pretty basic and it doesnt feel very secure in its slot so I left it off during use, I didnt feel like picking it up every time it may fall off. The flexible hoses are a bit of a pain cos you cant just pull it off & use it, you have to get down to remove it from the vac head and then you have to attach it to the wand/extra flexi hose/tool depending on what you want to do. The flexi hose uses clear plastic which I'm not sure how long it will last before splitting, I'm used to black hoses that feel tougher. Also the lock for the head is not a physical foot switch, it feels like its on a detent that uses pressure rather than a normal lock, 1st time I seen such design, I hope it lasts as long as a normal lock & doesnt weaken over time/use. I like the power switch for the brush but it was pretty essential due to no head height adjustment and the head is not very wide which is fine for small rooms but a large room and you will wish it was wider. Pickup was fine on my hardwood floors and it only got stuck on 1 uneven section of lino so the suction is pretty good. All in all I'm still in 2 minds as to whether to keep it which I was not expecting
