Top Notch Sound, Top Notch Quality
Posted by: adnohis1 from: on
First of all the JBL flip 3 is so handsome, well built; it just oozes quality.
You just want to touch it to feel it.
Now, going to the sound portion: This thing rocks! From the Bass to the Midrange all the way to the detail on the treble just seems perfect.
I was able to compare it in store against the Bose Soundlink mini color and the JBL wins hands down. I was surprised to see how good this was over the Link and the rest of the field. Did I mentioned this feels so solid?
If the claimed 10 hour battery is somewhere near this is the new king of the Sub $100 speakers. Beautiful, Solid speaker and on top of that Splashproof! and you can hang it anywhere! a true camping/BBQ delight!
A lot of bang for my buck.
You can actually connect 2 of this for an enhanced experience. Can wait to try it in the near future!

Best of the small ones
Posted by: JuniorGman from: Northern, VA on
I've purchased all of the JBL Bluetooth speakers. I listen to this one the most and it goes everywhere with me. I listen to nothing but extreme heavy metal and this tube delivers the goods. It's not going to fill a 1000 sq ft party but for personal enjoyment it's the best and will get the job done if you need a quick jam. Battery lasts for a good 6 to 8 hours of intense metal at reasonable volume. You can take this tube anywhere and it just rocks. Had it on the beach and it just flat got it done. Later for those Bose headphones! Had folks link in and play their jams but it really works the best with heavy guitars and solid riffs. I've probably sold about a hundred of these just by letting others Bluetooth into it and play just about every type of music. My mother is a classical music head and now she owns one. It just flat gets it done for personal sessions. Easy to setup and with a Google play disk it really gets busy. Buy one and get your head right as JBL got these small tubes dialed in. Don't expect to rule the world with this but it will be a big surprise to the uninitiated. I have put it through the paces with my bad taste in music and it just wants more. So far with the 2 I have paired no issues and it's getting to the point that I never turn on my home stereo. These just get it done! Any negative reviews are BS! Take it from someone who listens to every form of metal....These are sick! Good job James B Lansing! Now go get one or two if you want to jam. Excellent product!!!

Best portable speaker for the price
Posted by: vinipks from: on
I have also owned the previous generation of the speaker and I can assure you what was the best for the price has gotten even better. It is louder and the bass improved considerably. I love this more and more. I'm even considering buying the big one, jbl extreme cause I love jbls products so much

Sounds Bigger Than Its Price!
Posted by: Duluthian from: Duluth, MN on
Been researching bluetooth speakers for some time now. I wanted something that sounds great, is portable and would work well with my phone, tablet and Apple computer. I couldn't be happier with this speaker! I had narrowed my choices down to the Flip 3, Beats Pill and Bose Soundlink Mini II. All are very nice. The Flip 3 is the best in terms of portability and build quality. The Beats Pill is a bit smaller, but it didn't have the bass that the JBL has. The Bose sounds a bit better to my ear. But Not $100 better. Plus, the design of the Bose just doesn't lend itself to being as portable. There are others in this price range as well. But at the end of the day I couldn't find anything that came close to the Flip 3, particularly at its $99 price point.

The Perfect Speaker!
Posted by: erwinSD from: San Diego on
I usually play instrumental, meditative backround music on low to medium level inside the house and this speaker is perfect for it! The sound balance is great, and on many songs, the Flip 3 sounds just as good as the Charge 2. I can easily connect to Bluetooth almost instantly with my Phone, Chromebook and Laptop. The great thing I love about the Flip 3 is it's tiny size, making it easy to bring in any room in the house and take just about anywhere. This little speaker has replaced my large Logitech speaker system. 5 star speaker!

Great Little speaker
Posted by: MeatGuy from: on
Great sound from such a small speaker. Full rich sound with ample bass. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of sound. Would recommend to all in the market for portable sound. I get about 10-12 hours of use per charge. Pretty decent in my book

Best Bluetooth Speaker
Posted by: dlopez from: on
To whom is in doubt, just buy it! It will amaze you for its size.
I had my doubts and I was between the Bose Sound Mini II(which I bought for my dad), Harman Kardon One, Sony X33, and JBL Charge 2+. The sound of the Flip3 was on par with the Bose and Charge 2+, better than the Sony and Harman Kardon. The sound was clear and could hear all the right notes, with a hint of bass from drums and guitars. The battery life is great too, better than the Bose, can say much about the rest. I think that for the size and money its the best one of the bunch available at BestBuy.
Maybe the bigger brother JBL Xtreme and Harman Kardon Onyx have louder speakers, but those are always $200+ price range! For $100 price point this is the best!
Note: UE Boom2 is another contender, even though it plays louder the sound is nowhere near the clarity and harmony the JBL provides.

The Finest Wireless Portable Speaker ever Made!
Posted by: seascape from: on
JBL the american company who speakers can be found in many concent live venues finally took things to an entirely different level with the Flip 3.
Tone, Soundstage, Detail, Smooth highs and clean decent punchy lows.
(It has little in common in sound with the Flip 2, or any other JBL wireless product)
I have listened to 'every' product and brand on the market, including much higher end audio.
This reminds me to an extent some of the top end Bowers and Wilkins products AC powered lineup, and the Flip 3 does beat out the entry level Bowers T7 overall in power & depth! The T7 is $339, the Flip 3 is
$99 . Bowers does make the best product for home wireless use,
in the A7 but that is in a different price tier and is not portable.
For this price point, simply -nothing comes close- to its Music Presentation
and pure clairity.
You can use this wirelessly as well as wired for even better sound.
When playing keep the Flip 3 at about or slightly above ear level.
Strangely in some ways, voices in the midrange do trump is bigger more powerfull brother the new JBL Xtreme.
I know cause... I bought the Xtreme and then returned it.
Note the Flip 3 can be directly to a computer and playback Flac high res files.
Now go discover a band called Radiohead and enjoy the rest of the year!

Great sound and bass
Posted by: Rafa from: on
This is an excellent speaker with great improvements over the Flip2. Volume is loud enough to fill a room and the bass sounds better than most other speakers of this size/category.
