LG - 23.8 Cu. Ft. Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator - Wh
Posted by: TaanyaP from: Maine on
I am so over the moon about this new refrigerator! I love all the space and the fact that you can see everything so easily! The lighting is awesome, love the glass shelves with the lip to catch any spills and what can I say about the door storage!!! Almost everything fits on the door - love the adjustable shelves (both in the fridge and on the door).
The freezer! Was worried how the hubby and family would feel about the bottom freezer, but, was totally thrilled by it and they were too! Love that it isn't a drawer, it is an actual door that opens and then the drawers pull out! I can't believe all the space and everything is so easy to find! I didn't hook up the ice maker (I use the bucket to stow the freezer pops and the ice cream) because I already have an ice maker on my counter that I use everyday. My grandson (3yrs old) loves that he can get his own freezer pop now! I love that there is an adjustable divider for the larger bottom drawer too...even allows me to fit frozen pizzas in there! ...and, I have to say, I am using less power now that I have such an efficient fridge/freezer unit! Love the individual drawers in the fridge too! I recommend that you check it out and see for yourself...there are great pictures online...you won't be disappointed by this purchase!!

Looks good; has issues
Posted by: MarVista47 from: Los Angeles, CA on
A few details about this refrigerator from my experience. Hope this helps the potential buyer.
- I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews that mentioned the noise this LG model makes. It's a high-pitched, grinding metallic sound. It doesn't make the sound constantly, nor is it extremely loud, but it is unpleasant.
- After a month the door gasket started squeaking every time the fridge repressurized when we shut the door. If you're having this problem, try rubbing a little mineral oil on it.
- A new hose for the ice maker was connected but not flushed. The ice tasted strongly of plastic. When it didn't improve after several weeks we shut off the ice maker. It really needs to be connected to a separate filtration system if you live in city with hard water.
- The stainless steel finish shows fingerprints easily so you'll be wiping it constantly if that bothers you. When it's clean it looks nice.
- It has a strong door seal and it takes more force than expected to open.
I would have paid more for a refrigerator that didn't have these issues had I known. This is our first LG appliance and we're a bit disappointed.

Great functional refrigerator/freezer!
Posted by: Elaine from: on
I love my refrigerator on top where everything is at eye level. The shelves are wide instead of so deep which makes seeing everything in the refrigerator much easier and keeps me from having to bend down to find things so often. Having the freezer on the bottom is so much more convenient. The freezer swing door and slide out drawers make it so easy to quickly locate things.

Don't buy LG refrigerators
Posted by: warmfridge from: Berkeley, CA on
My husband bought a similar refrigerator from Best Buy 3 years ago (LDC22720ST). I guess he bought it because it was cheap. It has now broken down for the second time. None of the respected appliance repair places in my area will repair an LG refrigerator because they are so difficult to diagnose and repair. LG customer service is also not helpful.
I found out there was a bulletin out on this fridge, and so the $300.00 worth of parts should be covered by an extended warranty. Although my serial number shows that I bought it in 2011, the representative said I need to email them my receipt to prove it was purchased after 2010. It will take 3-5 days for "upper management" to review my receipt!! During which time I will not have a refrigerator. I will never ever buy an LG product again!

So far so good
Posted by: baconlover from: on
We just purchased our fridge and so far, we like it. It has plenty of room in the fridge and a good amount of room in the freezer. The ice bucket provided is rather large. On one hand, it is nice to have a nice reserve of ice, on the other hand, it takes up freezer space. We manage to get every thing in the freezer but I try not to buy too many frozen goods. I like how the middle divider moves from side to side to make more room for larger items, like a frozen pizza. Finally, I love the bottom freezer design. It is nice to not have bend down often to retrieve items and also, it allows us to open our dishwasher without blocking the door.

Frig with bottom freezer

One of few refrigerators with a freezer on the bottom as a door. Interior lights nice and bright, reminds you when door gets left open. Can move shelves around easily.

I've only owned this refrigerator for one month and I love it. The bottom freezer has a swing out door so no bending over and digging through like a chest freezer.
Plenty of storage room throughout.

Great all around refrigerator

Plenty of shelf room and ease of access to food. Ice maker produces a lot of ice but is a little difficult to remove ice tray. Nice quiet running unit.

Nice size, quiet

My side by side died, and I needed a new one. I love the size compared to the side by side! I've had it for 5 weeks now, and I have no complaints with it at all!

Lots of space inside, I had a birthday party and stored all the food inside with ease. I also used the same dimensions from my older and smaller unit and my much larger LG fit. I just love this refrigerator.
