Very nice set

this is the third set of logitech speakers i have owned (s120 and ls21 were prior) and this set blows them out of the water. the base is deep, the volume is loud and crisp, haven't hardly got mine over 1/2 volume just to see when they can do
easily shake my desk
the set up is pretty fast for these, just match up the right color
i tried the x540, and that is why i bought these, some people saw these dont sound as good as the x540, but i disagree,
i wish the appearance was a little different, but they still look nice
i researched speakers for about 4 months prior before i bought these, and these were at the lot of the list the entire time
the only thing that i could see people wanting is the wall mounts if you have a crowded desk, but i make it work
the base control is on the back, which is not bad if you dont adjust it, i have all my speakers on the top of my desk, so the sub woofer is easy to control
i just tried the 2nd input and it works just as good as the speakers
i am using them on a laptop, so you dont need to use the black and the orange cable to get all speakers working
there is a slight buzz when the speakers are on without playing sound, but it is taken away by hitting the power button or playing music
i have owned this for about a month now and am still blown away with the sound

All Around sound system
Posted by: Wardly from: Odessa, Tx on
Had been doing research for a good sound system for cheap....had an older Logitech 2.1 sound system, for my pc, that I ended up using for everything. Was checking into home theatre systems and sound bars; they were all way over priced. Wandered into the pc speakers and saw this set, they sounded good in the store and sound even better at home. They are perfect for all around use...they would bring your pc to life, hell I even have them hooked up to my flat screen in a smaller room and they sound as good as my expensive home theatre.
It is really easy to set up. Has the A/V inputs and the 3.5 jacks in the back. The only way to get the 5.1 out of it is the three 3.5 jacks made for a computer sound card. When hooked up to the red and white A/V you get a simulated surround sound that works very well. I am a tech guy and am very impressed with this little setup. It's well worth the money and can be used for all minds of devices. If you looking around you might give this set a chance.

Amazing Speakers For Anyone Looking for 5.1
Posted by: atticus1259 from: Michigan on
I absolutely love these speakers. After reading some of the other reviews I was really hesitant, after reading the negative reviews I decided to get them anyone since anything I've ever gotten from Logitech has always amazed me. I can easily say the people that gave this product poor reviews did not read the instructions or hook them up correctly. I've been getting amazingly clear and immersing surround sound from all my movies, my gaming has given me goose bumps and I've caught myself looking from side to side behind me forgetting about the rear speakers, and the sub woofer kicks out more than enough bass for my setup. My music has sounded so much more exciting and powerful. Hooking them up to my PC or my TV has never been easier. I feel the only downfall this set up has is the speaker wires for the rears are a tad bit shorter than I'd like but I easily found some extensions for them and its made life much easier. Otherwise its a great set for anyone looking for amazing speakers at an affordable price. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Great speakers for a bedroom
Posted by: FLhd from: nola on
I have owned this set for about a 2 weeks, and use them everyday to listen to music. I really have to say for the price they are more than worth it. The sub really kicks for a small sub and the surround sound is surprisingly nice. It is really great that the sub has its own volume control. I have a little white noise, but it is hardly noticeable. I do wish it had its own remote control, but for the price I am very very impressed by the quality of this Logitech product.

Good sound, not only for pc
Posted by: SareC from: Yakima, WA on
This was supposed to have been for my PC to take advantage of my sound card. It was awesome on the PC clear surround sound for gaming. We are also movie addicts and had RCA cable for hookup to our TV. That was also a very simple connection to the back of the TV. After changing a sound setting on the TV for the surround sound it now makes a reasonable priced home theater sound. Action movies you hear everything. Nature you can hear water rushing over rocks the birds song stands out. Amazing that you can hear things that TV speakers can't even begin to separate out for a full movie experience.
For settings of the speakers we have it to the 10 o'clock position which seems perfect for our livingroom. Main volume control is still controlled through the TV. Very happy using it for theater sound, I'll just have to get another for my gaming machine.

Remarkable for the price
Posted by: DRWAZ from: Tucson, AZ on
I use these in my office, hooked up either to my computer or my smartphone, so I'm not expecting high fidelity. Having said that, they put out remarkably high quality sound. One particularly attractive feature is the long cords (much longer than for other computer speakers), allowing much more flexibility of placement than other speakers I've used. No pun intended, but these really are a best buy.

Fantastic speakers for a great price
Posted by: from: Nutley, NJ on
I felt obligated to write this because I almost didn't buy these after the reviews, compared to those of other surround systems. Everyone seems to be complaining about white noise (and the inevitable 'MINE BROKE 1 STAR') but, trust me, they just don't know how to properly arrange their wires and power cables; if you get noise with these, you're gonna get noise with anything. I can hear the same high-pitched whine that my computer's audio chipset has always produced, IF I turn the volume up well past even my maximum listening level AND am sitting in utter silence. I'm not a true audiophile (I don't get anything out of really expensive systems) but I have started to frustrate my friends and fiance because I can't stand YouTube audio and I insist we download mp3s and mp4s, so I do care about quality. That said, I find these to be as good as anything I've ever heard, all around - SO glad I went for em.

great design and quality
Posted by: christianuy from: uruguay on
this set has all I expected it to have. I have it installed in a room of about 50m2 and it does the job preety fine. The subw may appear small for its power...but dont get carried away by appearances... as the ants carry many times their own weight. This could be an ant-woofer desing :)

Pretty good set of speakers
Posted by: Jazzyfan from: atlanta, ga on
I usually don't write reviews for products on here, but I felt compelled to after receiving the Logitech Z506 surround sound system.
***UPDATE*** (at the bottom)
~SUPER easy to set-up, everything matches up by color.
~Sound quality is superb compared to a lot of systems in this price range, especially for a 5.1 system.
~Base is FANTASTIC! I honestly can't get over how awesome the subwoofer is, and best of all -- NO DISTORTION!
~Since this is a tweeted system, you don't get distortion from the speakers like you would with a lot of other systems in this price range.
~RCA capable (meaning you can directly connect it to your Audio Out on the back of the TV).
~The ported down idea Logitech did for the subwoofer truely does make it fill the room (even at >50watts).
~Great bang for the buck.
~Wires can be a bit short, even for a small room.
So if you're like me and are planning to use this in a small room, I highly recommend this system; you can't go wrong!
After having owned this system for a little over 4 months, I have decided that.....this system is still fantastic!
If you're hooking this bad-boy up to a TV, simply plug the RCA (red/black) cables into the back of the subwoofer, then the other end (3.5mm headphone) to the headphone jack on your TV. Easy peezy :)
If you're hooking it up to a computer, simply plug the PC wires (not sure on the technical term, but they're the green, yellow, and black cords/wires) into the back of the subwoofer, as well as your PC. To get the surround sound effect (5.1) you will need to make sure your sound software is up to date. From there right click on your "speakers" (located under Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Right click on Speakers) and you can adjust your settings to 5.1.
I hope this has been helpful! Go buy this system today, it's fan-freakin'-tastic!

Cant beat the sound at this great price!!
Posted by: Lockjock from: Parker,CO on
Way over due for some new computer speakers; I saw these at my local store and figured what the heck, the price was right. Got them home and pulled everything out (very well packaged) set it all up and turned on Pandora. What a surprise I got! The sound was excellent and a huge improvement over my old set. My gaming is also crisper and it's easy to discern direction now too! Dont want to spend big bucks, pick up a set of these! Well worth the small investment!
