Q: What is the range of the Wi-Fi and how good is it with Comcast
A: I have Xfinity and it works very well... and don't worry about calling them to activate it. Simply log on once it's connected and it can be activated online. So far, so good!
Q: Does it work with Time Warner Cable?
A: Yes. Supports all speeds currently available and all speeds on the horizon (upto 680Mbps Download & 122Mbps Upload).
Q: I have comcast triple bundle. Will this work for their phone service (landline).
A: No -- if you want the phone service, you'll have the rent the box from Comcast. It is my understanding that no third party purchased units will work with their phone service. You may be able to buy the box directly from Comcast and avoid the monthly fee.
Q: does it work with cox cable internet?
A: Technically, yes although I can't get it to stay connected more than 8 hours at a time. It is still very buggy it seems & plenty of other users have seen the same thing if you do some searching.
Q: can i lay it on it's side or does it have to be vertical?
A: It can be layed on its side once you remove the base. There is a single t8 torx head screw holding it on.
Q: Can you set your own SSID and password?
A: Yes and yes.
A: I turned on all my devices which are two laptops one being a Mac 3 cell phones and TV and connected it to my Wi-Fi. All of them were streaming video from YouTube, Netflix and Hula. All without buffering.
Q: Will this need a technician to install?
A: This was super simple to use. Plug it in, connect internet cable and follow the simple instructions to set up your network. The default username and password are on a plate on the back of the router which you can change after you've signed for the first time.
