It's been an intense round. Your team and the enemy have been swapping leads like presents on Christmas. It's down to the wire and it's time for you to show them what you've got. You head toward the center of the map where the action is condensed and people are dropping like flies. You manage to slip into the ruins of a house, head for the second floor and position yourself at the window. You start eliminating targets as they dart across the street. Your blood is flowing, your heart is pumping and adrenaline is surging through your veins. There's only seconds left and you can taste the victory — not to mention a supremely epic K/D ratio. Just as time's about to run out, you hear the sound of footsteps from behind you. You're already shooting as you whirl around and you manage to take him down and save yourself. The screen fades to black and the room fills with the glow of your headset as the cheers and whoops of your teammates fill your ears. Glory is yours.

When the action is most intense, you need to be able to rely on your headset to give you the edge. Whether it's the sound of enemy footsteps, breaking glass, suppressed gun shots, tactical respawns or fall damage, it can be the difference between glory and defeat. This Afterglow Universal Prismatic Wireless Headset is tuned by a Hollywood sound-design studio, and features 50mm neodymium speakers that sit inside an angled acoustic cavity for intense audio depth, sonic richness and clarity of sound. To get you even deeper in the zone, the headset features glowing lights that you can set to almost any color. The durable design ensures that they can withstand frequent, long-lasting gaming sessions. So connect to your game console and get ready for explosive action. You've got the advantage of crystal-clear sound on your side.

Great Universal Wireless headphones Posted by: from: Wylie, TX on I purchased these because I wanted wireless headphones to use when playing games or just watching TV late night. I hadn't come across any reviews that mentioned if this would work on home theater receivers, so, I thought I would mention it here. It does work! I have all my sound running through my receiver (gaming console, TV, BluRay). Plugging this into the 3.5mm headphone jack of my receiver works great as one central point for wireless streaming of sounds. The range is awesome with no static or drops in my 3200+ sq ft home. I do want to point out that I was encountering a low buzz/humm at first when plugging the USB adapter into the USB port of my receiver or into my FIOS receiver. However, when I plugged the USB adapter into a power outlet via an adapter, the humm totally went away. For someone wanting wireless headphones without spending at least $200, these are awesome. I had considered the Sony PULSE as well, but read numerous reviews with cracking issues after a short while.

Fantastic product. Must buy! Posted by: from: AwesomeEdition on There are a lot of great things about this product but the best of all is the sound. It has such a fantastic sound quality that it rivals some very expensive corded headphones I used in the past. Surprised some found it unfomfortable. I wore it 8 hours straight once and i was very pleased with it. It's not quite lightweight but a serious gamer headphone with built in battery so i could tolerate that. Mic is perfect. There when you need it, tucks away when you're done yapping. I found it a bit on the sensitive side which is good for me since I don't like to speak loud but want to be heard. Lighting mode is fun to play with. My only complaint would be that the Afterglow headset doesn't remember which color I set it at and I have to adjust it again everytime I turn it on. Overall this is a fantastic product I'd highly recommend to any gamer.

Awesome Headset for Under $125 (with tax) Posted by: from: Sacramento, CA on Before purchasing the Afterglow headset, I only used the Turtle Beach Ear Force PX21 headset. I use them on my PS3 for playing COD games. The PX21 headset is awesome for sound but lacks greatly in the durability department. I had to replace the PX21 headset 3 times over the course of 2 years. If you accidentally dropped them too hard, or someone accidentally sits on them, they are going to break. Many of my friends have experienced the same durability issue with the PX21 headset. Luckily I had insurance and it didn't cost me anything additional to replace. A month ago, my PX21 headset broke again and I didn't have insurance coverage at the time. I was at Best Buy the other day and saw the Afterglow headset on the shelf. Prior to seeing them at Best Buy, I hadn't heard of them before. I figured for $125 (with tax) I would give them a try and I’m glad I did. The sound is awesome, they are very comfortable, I don’t see these things breaking anytime in the near future (I still got insurance for 2 years just in case anything else happens). Initially, I thought the Afterglow headset lacked in overall game volume because the PX21 headset is extremely loud if you want them to be. The Afterglow headset is built to be noise cancelling so they do not have to be as loud on your ears. Now that I've logged several hours of play with the Afterglow headset, I’m use to the volume and it’s more than adequate. Overall, great headset and great buy.

Unbelievably AWESOME Headset!!! Posted by: from: Roy, UT on I have purchased several gaming headsets in the past. All of which pale in comparison to these SICK Headphones! They are absolutely the BEST of All worlds!....*Wireless*, *Comfortable*, *Connect to Multiple Platforms, Audio Devices, & Home Theater Setups*, *Change Colors*, *Long Lasting Charge*, *Very Long Range*, *No Static/Wireless Interference*, *Retractable Microphone*, *Looks Cool*, and *SOUNDS AMAZING*! (I like the 3D Immersive Sound the best. It's like Surround Sound). Other comparable headsets I've owned, weren't near as good and usually cost more! Anything similar that I've encountered, usually costs between $200-$300. So if you're looking for a GREAT wireless headset, these are DEFINITELY worth the $100! You simply won't find another of this quality for the price. A+

They seem good at first, but don't last. Posted by: from: on When I bought these, they seemed awesome, and the mic worked fine. The overall body is made of very, very cheap plastics. In timeline sense, here's what happened (1 year of use) 1 month: Microphone is shot. Headset was not dropped and/or damaged in any fashion. 2 months: Cushion on headband starts to peel off at edges. 3 months: Padding on earphone starts to wear off after 4hr use per day. 4 months: Crack on right side of headband starts to form. 6 months: Audio is still in good quality. 9 months: Crack on left side of headband begins to form. 11 months: Crack on right side of headband is plainly visible. Marathon gaming experience: 30min: Entire face is getting hot. 1hr: Ears are getting sweaty and are starting to hurt 1hr 45min: I had to take the headset off to let my ears breathe. Overall: Clunky, overweight design. The headset has to at LEAST weigh 1lb. it weighs my head down and is hard to use at times. The audio cannot be matched, but the overall clunky design and cheap materials nullify the pros of this headset.

No problems Posted by: from: Washington, Seattle on Instead of buying my 4th turtle beach headset I decided to try something else. I had purchased a nearly $400 wireless turtle beach headset and had numerous issues getting it to sync. One day it just stopped syncing. So frustrating to spend 30 minutes trying to get a headset to turn on. The wired versions suffered similar problems an still cost $60ish dollars each. One suffered a cord bite by a child, the other simply had a cord pull loose inside the easier and the mic would not work. I refused to buy another turtle beach. I wanted something cheap and wired having spent so much already. Best buy didn't have much that wasn't turtle beach. Bought this fearing it would be similar to my expensive turtle beach. Completely different experience. Syncs right up each time without complicated sync instructions. Battery lasts 8 hours or so. I couldn't get the color to change at first but was willing to live with it. Now I understand the issue: you have to hold the button down "when it is already on and synced". So it won't change colors unless you are synced. No complaints. Sound is great. Everything works. Solid build. 5 stars.

Great Buy!!! Posted by: from: Escondido, CA on It's my pleasure to write the first review of this awesome headset. Originally went to buy the Pulse headset from Sony but came home with this piece instead. Changed my mind at the store because the Afterglow headset is universal and I can use it with my PS3, 360 and PC. Also, the manufacturer cared enough to put the frequency response chart on the package. I'm a musician and glad to see that the manufacturer thought some consumers would understand the sound tech of the product. You got to experience this headset's sound; it is just beyond incredible. You wouldn't expect such full, crisp sound from a headset at this price point. Puts headsets at much higher prices to shame. Don't miss this great buy.

Really awesome gaming headset. :) Posted by: from: on In the past, I've struggled to find a headset that fits and is comfortable to wear for an extended amount of time. I've tried other brands, such as Turtle Beach and Razer, but after about 30 to 45 minutes, they would get super uncomfortable and I'd end up taking them off. The sound from the headset is really nice and crisp; for once, I can hear everyone in vent and teamspeak clearly. Plus, once I swapped over to this headset, my friends immediately noticed and even complimented it, saying how good and clear I sounded over the mic (which is a first, for any headset)! I know wireless is becoming pretty standard for a lot of gaming headsets now, and the range on this one is pretty good. And, since all of the controls for audio and the mic are actually on the headset, I can get up to do something and still be able to adjust everything via the headset itself. It gives you a lot of freedom if you're like me, and have trouble staying in one spot for more than an hour. :) Overall, this headset has been nothing but awesome, and I love, love, LOVE the lights on it. A lot of my set-up is pink, so it's really nice to be able to change the color of the lights to pink so everything matches. Needless to say, I'm super happy with it. :)

Good sound, but cheap materials Posted by: from: Houston, Tx on The sound on these is surprisingly good. They are very easy to set up. I use them for gaming on my XBOX 360, and for watching tv and movies. Audio during game play sounds great, and chat audio sounds good as well. I have yet to encounter any issues. My only gripes are that the headphones are a little bulky, and could be a little more comfortable. Also, the cables that come with the headphones are made of very cheap plastic, and there were errors in the instruction manual, which kinda bothered me, as this is my first PDP purchase. If PDP can clean up their branding and presentation, and use better materials, I may purchase future products.

Good Wireless Headset for Wii U Posted by: from: on I bought these specifically looking for a wireless headset for the Wii U. Unfortunately, options are limited and instructions online are unclear about whether certain models work with the Wii U. I can confirm that the sound works wirelessly and quite well with the Wii U. (I don't use the mic in the headset, so I am not sure if that works wirelessly). You simply need to use an RCA cable in your setup, the headphones piggyback off of the two audio prongs. Under audio settings on the Wii U, you can instruct it to output sound through the RCA cable (or through both the RCA and HDMI if you want to use TV sometimes and headphones sometimes). Finally, I'm no audiophile, but I can tell that these are: - much better than using standard headphones (earbuds, cheap headsets, etc) - comfortable for a headset These definitely aren't high-end compared to all headsets, but they're probably the best wireless available for the Wii U.
