The ambition is admirable but this plays badly. Cloud Atlas is one of these time shifting parables about how we're all interconnected and the consequences of our actions create ripple effects in the order of things. At almost 3 hours, it's insufferable and actors playing multiple characters in terrible makeup don't help the cause. I bet Mitchell's book is the better expression of these ideas. The movie doesn't work.

I had no idea what I was getting in to with this one. After several time-shifts, I figured out it was telling several different stories. Once there, I started looking for character or story connections that never seemed to tie in.. Usually I enjoy movies that interweave multiple story lines, like "Love Actually". This movie never gets you there...skip it.

The book was much better, and easier to follow! An ok movie, but certainly not one of Tom Hanks best! Not even one of Halle Berry's best! The production was pretty good, but the story was weak, and not well done! I wouldn't recommend buying this one unless it's on sale or clearances!(that's how I bought it). A rainy day movie at best!

If you are looking for a convoluted, confusing, apologetic about reincarnation then this is it! I watched the entire movie but when it was over I questioned myself why I sat through it, or bought it for that matter! I should have researched it before buying. Some people may like it but it is never going to become a cult classic.

For a movie chock-full of stars, this one smelled really, really bad. Even Tom Hanks stunk in this film. Comical "villains", uninspired sets, and characters you just don't care about. All under the not-at-all-subtle "art film" feel. Politically correct. Boring. Pretentious.

Very surprised that, with all the Great actors In this film, I can not recommend this. The story was very hard to follow and very hard to understand what they were saying. Thumbs Down.

While it has good actors, it jumps around too much and you can easily get lost so many different aspects to plot, they are not all tied together neat.

You would think when a bunch of "good" actors would do a movie together, it would be a block buster. Nope. I would not buy this movie again if I had the chance.

a bit tricky to understand, that a single outside history not several that are linked, at some point the Viewer may lose the plot would have liked

I understand what the producers/directors were trying to accomplish with this movie but it didn't work for me. Good performances by the actors however.

The movie was boring and more boring. It was hard to follow at times because of the time jumps in the story. Great actors - but boring.

Just could not get into this movie, way too boring, too much stop and go, back and forth flashing back, did not enjoy it at all.

Great price just wasn't my type of movie I should have read up on it I bought it because of the actors in the movie not a great choice

It was a very interesting movie, but I felt discombobulated through out the whole movie. I don't think it lived up to the descriptions.

This was a very disturbing movie...not at all what I expected. Great cinematography and special effects, but not my cup of tea.

Movie seemed to drag on. Began to get the gist of the plot at least half way through. Not a movie I will sit through again.

Couldn't follow the various timelines and frequently couldn't even translate what Hanks was saying.

I watched this movie and just could not get into ,it at all, way too slow and hard to follow.

Story line was difficult to follow at best, movie had great actors, but their talent was wasted on this movie.

Tom Hanks really messed up taking this part . Hard to follow and totally bizarre to watch.
