The noise canceling feature alone is worth of money. I bought a second pair for my wife so she can watch t v at night.Whilst i'm sleeping. You can also wear with the cpap if you want to fall asleep to noise music. The dyson app was absolutely easy to use great connectivity bluetooth. Highly recommend.

Better than some audiophile brands. Outstanding.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would’ve never guessed that one of the best headphones I’ve listened to are made by a company known for vacuums and fans. In typical Dyson fashion, they’re well built, well thought-out, and do an outstanding job at what they’re designed for. These headphones rock! Music has an open soundstage that emits every note with an inspiring clarity. They’re well balanced out of the box, but the Enhanced EQ mode offers a small bump in frequencies… kind of like Loudness but without the muddyness. And if you’re a basshead, the BassBoost EQ setting should be satisfying as it gives the bass much more punch and authority without sacrificing musicality. They’re agile enough to keep up with every musical genre I’ve run through them (and I listen to everything). They’re also cozy to wear for hours and I’ve never found my ears hot or irritated after prolonged use. And because it’s a Dyson, there’s going to be a few innovative features that really are more than just marketing fluff. The can covers and cushions are modular and easy to swap for other colorways so you can quickly switch styles to fit your mood. They also don’t necessarily need to be round, so there could be some fun with different shapes if someone wanted to get creative with them (hint hint Dyson). Even the case offers a bit of ingenuity as it collapses totally flat for easy storage when you remove the headphones. In terms of negatives, I wish there was more adjustability than 3 EQ presets. I would usually raise a big stink about this, but I actually like how Enhanced and Bass Boost sound and don’t think I’d change much anyway. I would also like some kind of level adjustment for the ANC and PassThrough modes, but they’re also fixed to a good level. The ANC is excellent at blocking outside noise and PassThrough offers natural sound reproduction of your surroundings. It can still get drowned out by the media you’re playing, but that’s on par for all ANC headphones. In short, these are priced like premium headphones and they live up to the billing. The sound quality is fantastic with excellent detail and bass. They’re comfortable to wear for hours and the customizable colorways are a cool feature to keep them fresh throughout the years. And they have 55 hours of battery life! Ridiculous. If these are within your price point, I absolutely urge you to give them a try. The Dyson OnTrac ANC headphones are fantastic. SOUND Dyson advertises an expanded frequency range of 6Hz-21KHz, which is just outside of the normal range of 20Hz-20KHz. I don’t know if I’m actually able to hear anything that low or high, but I do know these sound great with every genre of music I’ve played. The bass is strong and agile without being muddy. For a sound quality setup the Enhanced EQ mode adds subtle tuning without distorting the original sound, but if you like something heavier then Bass Boost is for you. I keep flipping between both modes depending on the music, but it does a great job either way. In most cases I would complain about the lack of EQ tunability, but I’m oddly satisfied with the presets. I don’t think I’ve ever said that before, but here we are. But outside of the bass response, the vocals and highs have such a wonderful open and natural sound. Playing “Rush” by Arya Starr, her powerful but vulnerable voice shines through while being well complemented by the strong percussion. In “Dance Tonight” by Lucy Pearl the musicality of the bass gets to show off a bit while offering natural vocals and a wide soundstage. On the other end of the spectrum, “Enter Sandman” by Metallica was pure adrenaline. This is a song I prefer on BassBoost, because it needs to be felt. The drums offer a good backbone to the charging guitar riff and the balance doesn’t get lost here. It’s hard not to smile. So then I played Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” and I was enchanted from the moment the guitars introduced themselves. This might actually be one of the best songs to demo these headphones with as it really seems to flex the abilities of the Dyson OnTrac. Excellent vocal reproduction, drums with kick, and a melodic guitar in a seemingly open and spacious soundstage. From MJ, Outkast, Usher, RiRi, and Kendrick, to Cheap Trick, Pavoratti, and Papa Roach, it really doesn’t matter who, these headphones will spit out some beautiful tunes. And before I forget to mention it, the call sound quality is excellent as well. ANC automatically turns on and blocks the outside noise well while offering a clear and natural sounding voice from the other line. I honestly didn’t ask how I sounded, but after an hour of being on a phone interview there were no issues with voice clarity or volume. DESIGN It’s a Dyson, so there are expectations and they have been met. Dyson is one of the few innovative tech companies that has a good record of hitting it out of the park with most offerings and they at least always offer some kind of innovative feature. Aside from the sound, I really appreciate the flat collapsable case and modular pieces. Being able to easily change the covers and cushions offers a huge range of custom colorway options and I’m excited to see what both Dyson and the aftermarket does with this. As I mentioned before, the covers don’t necessarily need to be a round shape which means you could even change the whole silhouette of the cans if they made them. Or at the very least, I can see covers with custom paint jobs or logos. The cushions also come in a nice variety of colors and I’m excited to see what future offerings become available. There’s a lot of fun and creative opportunities here and I hope they keep embracing it. Buildwise, the fit and finish is excellent with no loose threads and a solid feel. I guess if there’s one thing I don’t like it’s how the frame’s gray plastic reminds me of my Dyson vacuum. Not that it’s cheap or anything, it’s just a funny mental association. It’s a sturdy design with actual metal covers and controls. Speaking of which, there’s a little joystick on the right can that serves as the main controller (start, stop, next, previous, volume) and turning the ANC on or off is done by tapping either can twice. Unfortunately, there’s no customization options for the controls, but thanks to the joystick it all kind of makes sense and I haven’t found a need to change anything. It’s funny, at first I thought they were being cheap by not including a full hard case, but this is way better. Remove the headphones and the case collapses flat and takes about as much space as a DVD case. Store the headphones in them and the hard shell front and back offer ample protection while also allowing access to the charging port. Great design job all around. PROS - Outstanding sound quality - 6Hz-21 kHz frequency range - Open soundstage - Excellent sound clarity and definition - Smooth and natural vocals - Deep and melodic bass - Excellent noise canceling - PassThrough work well - Great on phone calls - Joystick works well - Haptic touch controls are responsive - Comfortable cushions - 55 hours of battery life - Fast charging - Well built - Love the modular covers and cushions - Innovative thin case design - Covers and cushions come in cool colorways CONS - Only 3 EQ presets available - Not able to adjust ANC or PassThrough levels - Cannot customize controls

What a great set of headphones....
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dyson OnTrac The packaging is great, the Dyson OnTrac headphones comes with a greatly designed case and USB charging cable. One can change the ear cups and outer caps by purchasing other color options and Dyson gives you seven color options, very nice to have the option indeed. You download the MyDyson app either IOS or Android. Charge the headphones up, power up the headphones, open the app and let the app find the headphones. The headphones will update it's firmware through the app automatically. All this was done flawlessly. Put the headphones on your head (they are labeled also for the correct ear, R and L) then start listening to pure awesomeness. You tap two times on the outside end caps (either left or right) to turn on or off the noise ancelling. The power button is on the left ear piece and the 4 way joystick is on the right ear piece. You press the joystick to pause / play / answer phone calls. Press and hold to either reject an incoming phone call (if receiving a call) or activate voice commands. Move the stick up for volume up and down for volume down, left and right to skip or rewind audio tracks. The headphones have a head detect when you put them on your head, they pause / resume playing as you take them off and put them back on. The battery lasts days, the app you can adjust for Enhanced, Base boost, neutral, i use them in base boost mode as i love base, and these headphones have lots of base with extreme clarity that to me is just outstanding. When i say to me, I mean to me as everyone has their own listening quality and different likes to what sounds (music) should sound like. Phone call quality is great, I can hear callers and callers can hear me. I love the joystick control, what a geniuses idea that works perfectly. You can get an airplane adapter cable from Dyson. The sound quality is outstanding, the features are awesome, the fit is perfect, the only thing negative would be they are a tad heavy otherwise just wow .

Customizable To Your Style And High Quality Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dyson has stepped into the headphone arena with the Dyson OnTrac Slimline noise canceling headphones. Dyson products are known to be engineered to look good and work well. This carries over to the OnTrac Slimline headphones. They are stylish and customizable. Design Dyson engineers have done a good job with the design. The ear pieces can pivot to adjust to your head. The headband can be extended or retracted as I would expect. Both are made to easily adjust to me. The outer part of the ear pieces, the outer caps, can be removed and replaced and Dyson has made them in several different colors. The inner part, the cushions, can also be removed and replaced. There are also several color options for that as well. I can customize the color as I feel fits me. In the future, I'll end up buying replacement cushions and will probably go with red. The color of the cushions that came with mine are yellow which I don't like as much as I would red. The OnTrac headphones come with a protector case. It can protect the headphones from something putting pressure on them like what might happen when I have them in my backpack. The case however is open around the top, sides, and bottom. The case looks good with the headphones in it, but I would like to have seen a case the allows for more protection. With the headphones in the case, you can see the colored ear cushions which, coupled with the good look of the case, gives it an overall very stylish look. For most situations, the case will be sufficient to protect my headphones, but I would prefer the case afford better protection. Sound Quality The sound quality from the OnTrac headphones is very high quality. The audio is clear whether I'm listening to an audio book or music. The drivers in each earpiece make voices sound really good. Audio books are very clear. I would have liked the drivers to have a little more bass though. With music, it sounds good, but doesn't have as much punch to the base as I would like. This doesn't seem to retract from voices sounding good, but I do notice it when listening to music. Music is still very clear and sounds good. It's just that if the drivers produced a little more base, music would have a much richer sound. App Dyson developers built a high quality app. Setup is easy. In the app I can choose what eq to set that best suits me. As the OnTrac headphones are noise canceling headphones, Dyson has added a meter I can see that shows dB levels inside the earpieces and the dB level of sounds outside the headphones. I like the meter and it is a good feature of the app. I can also choose the noise canceling setting within the app and also change it using a touch sensitive button on the outside of the left earpiece. The app is also where I can easily find documentation and also quickly jump into the Dyson store to browse for replacement ear cushions or outer caps. Final Thoughts I really like what Dyson engineers have done with the OnTrac noise canceling headphones. The noise canceling is good and they were designed with style in mind. I think that the drivers could be made to produce a little more bass in future iterations of them. If they did, music would have a richer sound. As they are, they produce a very clear high quality sound. Overall, I'm really happy with them and use them daily. If you are looking for a new set of headphones with high quality sound and that allow you to customize the color to suit your style, then consider the Dyson OnTrac noise canceling headphones.

Great Premium Headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dyson OnTrac headphones are premium quality headphones both in sound and build quality. The OnTrac headphones offer plenty of features that most modern headphones have such as noise canceling and noise transparency, but they also have the option to customized…for a price. The OnTrac headphones give you the option to change the color of the ear caps as well as the ear cushions, each pair will set you back $50 per set. The build quality on the headphones is some of the best I’ve seen yet. These are made of premium materials, and you can immediately tell the second you put them in your hand. There is some weight to them, but they did do a great job of balancing them when they rest on your head, so they’re not too overbearing. The outcome: they feel both comfortable and secure and they never get too hot or sweaty while wearing them. The OnTrac headphones offer noise cancelling and noise transparency that can be activated by double tapping the left ear, or through the Dyson app. You do need to download the Dyson app to make these features work. The noise cancellation works, but there is definitely room for improvement. I was still able to hear most of the environment around me with noise cancelation turned on. As far as sound quality goes, this is where the Dyson headphones really shine. The OnTrac offers some amazing sound quality across the board. They offer some crisp detailed highs, as well as smooth deep bass, and vocals sound very detailed and crystal clear. When combined, it sounds like you have a beautiful symphony playing in your ear. Drums. Overall, I really like the Dyson OnTrac headphones. These are definitely some of the nicest built headphones I’ve yet to see. They offer amazing sound quality, they are very durable and comfortable to wear, plus you have the option to customize the earcups and ear cushions. My only complaint is they didn’t add a headphone jack, the only connection is a USB-C to charge them. Either way, I would still recommend these to anyone looking for a great set of premium headphones.

Love them.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a previous owner of Sony's over the ear XM5. The Dyson OnTrac sounds as good. They excel, however, in how they fit and feel. The materials and build quality blow the competition out of the water. I can't speak enough to how secure they fit my head. They are very comfortable. The sound is amazing. The physical joystick to control music is fantastic. I could never work out with the Sony's because my arms would accidentally trigger the touch sensor on the earcups. Not so when you have a physical control. The case is well designed and thought out. You slide them in the case, which is hard on both sides, and there is a thoughtful pass through for charging while in the case. And being able to personalize/customize with different color cushions and ear caps is fantastic. My only quibbles are with a 55 hour battery life it would be super to have reverse charging so the head phones could act as a back up battery for my phone. And there needs to be more a customizable EQ in the myDyson app. Oh and Dyson's 2 year warranty is free. No need to spendi extra for Applecare here!
