||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure if the description was unclear or if I just didn't read closely enough, but this cable only works in the opposite direction that I needed it to. The DisplayPort end has to go into the computer and the HDMI end has to go to the monitor. To the cable's credit it is clearly labeled that this is the case. It does function just fine the correct way round, and with a HDMI switch did help me solve the problem I was trying to solve.

This was the next best solution I could come up with without sacrificing the picture quality on my laptop. Unfortunately it didn't work out. I wasn't able to test if it was the cable or not which is the only reason I don't give this a better rating. Ended up purchasing an HDMI switcher and that works perfectly for what I need it for!

If you need the opposite connection, like I did, this cable will not work for you. It will not work if you need to connect the HDMI end to your computer and the Display Port end to your monitor.

Had to Return due to not the right connection

I wasn’t able to manually change it to the maximum resolution, so I had to reset my monitor settings, reset computer, and then it automatically changed it.

I’m very disappointed with this. Had better ones in the past. I would have liked if they could’ve had a much stronger one with less issues. Still like Best Buy products and their services. It needs to be connected to you computer and HDMI to your screen. It does not work in the other direction. When I purchased it, I noticed some open boxes for this product. Now I know why, they purchased for the same reason I did and it did not work for them either.
