I use this to hold photos from my SLR. Highly portable and fast enough to edit on the fly. Works flawlessly with iPad Pro as well as PC. An excellent fast and reliable file bucket. Might get a second for backup given how cheap it is. Software is actually useful for that purpose. Syncs with Adobe easily. Just point Lightroom to it and it’s a seamless experience. Pros might want something more like a NAS with RAID, but as an enthusiast this fits the bill.

I love this hard drive. Tons of space for a little bit of money. The design is definitely high quality and heavy duty. Great for traveling and remote work.

Excellent and reliable pocket drive. I use these for video storage. In 20 years, I've only had one fail and LaCie is very receptive for troubleshooting.

I love my LaCie harddrives--I have 6 of them, and they are affordable and super high quality, so durable and reliable. I’ve been using the LaCie Rugged 5TB External Hard Drive for a few months, and overall, I’m impressed with its performance and reliability. Here’s a breakdown of my personal experience: First off, the durability of this drive is outstanding. I work in various environments, including outdoors and in busy areas, so I need something that can handle bumps and drops. The bright orange rubber casing not only looks rugged but does the job of protecting the hard drive well. I’ve accidentally dropped it a couple of times, and it hasn’t skipped a beat — the shock resistance gives me peace of mind. Additionally, the IP54 water and dust resistance is a bonus for when I’m on the go.

A sturdy and reliable hard disk drive. I am a photographer and use this as my backup hard drive for all my RAW photos - it's quick to upload files to, and a great portable HDD.

Reliable & Rugged. I've had the 2tb version for 5+ years, and when I needed mobile large storage for offloading RAW video files, I knew this was the best option for me.

You literally can’t go wrong with these, I travel for work so all my hard drives take some sort of impact us at some point whether through TSA or regular wear and tear while traveling, so it’s always good to be able to relax because I know these hard drives don’t easily get damaged. I probably have 24 of these

I use these to store my photographs as an active library in lightroom and they work perfectly. I've never had an issue with one like I did with WD drives and a few others.

Great little external drive. This is my 3rd one, (other two still working, just full). Very fast transfer speeds, read/write etc. It does get a little warm under strain, but not hot. Wish they would come in larger capacities in this form factor. I install data circuits for businesses etc., and I’ve seen these used as a daily back up scenario, so I know its popular and reliable. Would definitely recommend.

This has been the only drive I have used on the road since it came out. It is durable and gets the job done. The usb-c is fast enough to get transfers and communicates all computers beautifully. I feel confident and safe as using it for storage on the road and at home. I just ordered my 3rd one from Best Buy and will continue to make a pile of these as long as I am in photography and video production.

Great value for a rugged external drive. Only reason for the missing star is that the drive is a platter drive instead of an SSD. I would've preferred an SSD for this price point. But Lacie is a trusted brand and the transfer speeds are excellent.
