    I have 5 Samsung TVs without issue so ignored the bad reviews for this model. Died right after my BB Plus 60 day return window. No Power. No Red Light. Replacement Power Board out of stock so nothing Samsung can do. Doesn’t matter if you have Geek Squad extended warranty. Within the first year must work through Samsung. Even offered to buy a more expensive TV just so I don’t need to deal with this unit that obviously has major issues (easy to find hundreds of similar complaints online). Best Buy was no help. When buying a $2,500 TV expect it to last more than 3 months. Really frustrating and disappointing with both Samsung and Best Buy

    I Just bought a home 3 months ago, and one thing I love to do is watch movies. When the TV was working, the picture quality was good. However, the responsiveness was very slow and clunky, and the UI wasn’t snappy, making it clear that the processing power on such a large TV was subpar. I’ve been a loyal Samsung TV customer for many years—since 2000. This was my first new TV purchase in about five years, and unfortunately, it might be my last from Samsung. I’ve read reviews about declining quality and cheaper components, but I hadn’t experienced it firsthand until now. I purchased this TV in November 2024, and by January 20, 2025, it’s completely dead—no power, no screen, nothing. It’s frustrating to see a once-reliable and quality brand fall off so hard. Samsung built its reputation on quality, but like Toyota, it seems they started cutting corners after reaching the top. Now, I’m stuck figuring out how to return this massive TV to the store. I may switch to LG or Sony next time—Samsung just isn’t what it used to be. And they may have lost a long-time customer who purchased more than 6 TVs from them.

    Samsung 77” OLED TV died in first two weeks -

    This 77” Samsung OLED television stopped working suddenly and the screen went black and dead within two weeks of use. I purchased this television as a Christmas present for my children and was completely disappointed to levels incomprehensible- when it suddenly died while they were watching it. Afterwards I read reviews on the Samsung website and found out this exact television has numerous complaints reporting this exact problem - it simply dies after short usage. Will not ever purchase a Samsung ever again. I have to wait over 10 days for a Best Buy refund to my account before I can shop for a new - different brand television and I am angry and disgusted with both the store and the manufacturer. Good riddance to an awful television and I will definitely read the reviews BEFORE I make another purchase.

    We bought this TV after doing what I thought was an appropriate amount of research on the best Quality for our money!!! I could not have been more wrong!!! We bought it on December 20 so we had the new TV for the holiday! We ended up not having a TV at all for the holiday!!! It stopped working on day 5, the stand by light would not even on!!! We called best buy and they told us that due to not being able to find our addreess we would have to return it to the closest store! Thos was over an hour away!!! When we arrived at the store we were the 3rd customer to retun the same TV that day!!!!! Do not waste your money!!!! We bought an LG that day and the Best Buy Employees in Bristol, Virginia could not have been better!!! The in store service was a 5 star!!!! I never write reviews but i am writing this one to keep you from making the same mistake that we made!!!

    Just like most of the reviews on here the power supply went out. Luckily it was about 2 weeks before end of warranty just like everyone else. Samsung and the local repair shop that's contacted with them both hate people and hate customer service so it's a blast dealing with threatening texts over the last few weeks from the repair shop saying they are going to cancel my appointment if I don't do whatever they want for the next two weeks. Bless you!

    Bought this tv on November 21st 2024. It is now February 22nd at approximately 10:14 my tv blacked out on me. Remote won’t work, unplugging and plugging it back in won’t work. It’s already plugged into the wall so it can’t be a power issue which I did check my outlet. And guess what, it ain’t the outlet. Just laid up watching tv and it made a weird power surge noise and blacked out. Apparently this issue is called “black screen of death.” Which is common for these tvs.

    Purchased the TV on September 9th 2025, TV went off on December 22nd 2025 and won’t turn on again. TV is still under warranty so I have scheduled repair with Samsung. Picture quality is awesome though.

    I purchased a 77" QLED 11/12/24. picture great until black screen on 01/17/25 (72 hrs post return date). Best Buy no help. SAMSUNG serviced on 02/05/25 confirmed bad power board. PB on backorder no eta. Paid for extended warranty. Samsung will not replace and no est for repair. paid $2499.99 for a black screen laying on my guest bed. do not buy!!!!

    Power board went out 3 times within one year of owning the tv. I was lucky enough that the 3rd time it went out a few days before my warranty. I immediately got a refund and told them to come get their TV back. Beautiful picture and all, but this will be last ever Samsung purchase ever.

    I’ve only had this 77 inch paperweight for 4 months and it won’t turn on. Instead of dealing with the geek squad, Best Buy sent me to Samsung for service. Knowing what I know now about the hunk of garbage, I would never have bought it. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this tv.

    TV was open box purchase, I believed since this is a country-wide store you’d get better product than Facebook marketplace. However, in this case I was very very wrong. I took the bestbuy team at the store over an hour to get us the right tv even after the app said our purchase was ready for pick up. Then, the tv was wrapped in bubble wrap with serveral punctures on the wrapping. No box was given, no stand for the tv nor delivery was offered. After that, when we got home, we found out that they had given us the wrong power cord to even turn on the tv. After further inspections, we found that the screen was severely damaged with scratches, blemishes and separation from the top layer of the screen to the LED’s. The were several dents, the worst one is at the bottom right corner where it shows separation of the main front screen panel from the back of it. I tried to reach out to customer support but it’s outsourced to god knows where so it was ineffective and a waste of customers time. They didn’t want to help at all and basically only said that it was my problem because it was an open box purchase. Again you’d expect better products, even from openbox, from an established well known electronics store. I believe facebook marketplace would have been a better option, at least I would have been able to turn it on and inspect it before purchasing it (probably with a stand, correct power cord and a box). I have bought products from BestBuy since I was a young adult so i was really disappointed.

    Bought this TV in November 29, 2024. Looked and worked great until…. On February 1st, 2025, the TV would not turn on. Did several of the troubleshooting checks and ended up having to go through the Samsung Warranty. I did not buy the Best Buy service warranty. Anyway, Samsung initially indicated they need a month to come out to look at it. Not 100% sure what the issue is but pretty sucky for a new TV to go out after 2 months.

    TV broke within the first 90 days. If it worked, im sure it would be great but, the picture quality is the worst ive ever seen. Its just black. It's so black, that it looks like a black hole i just threw my wallet into.

    Samsung 77"S90D colors and sound are bad.

    The Samsung 77"S90D has bad colors. It seems to be dominated by blue colors. I tested the TV with Samsung support and sent them photos. They were not able to fix it. Also, the TV sound is terrible, but the Sonos Arc sound was acceptable. I have attached sample photos of my new TV and the same movie photos of my 16 years old Samsung TV.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the picture and sound quality of your S90DTV. To ensure you’ve got the latest updates, please confirm that your TV is up to date with the latest firmware version. You can check by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

      If the picture you’re seeing is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.

      Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
      ...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
      1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
      2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
      3. Eco: Provided to save energy
      4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
      5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

      You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).

      If the sound is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several sound settings you can adjust to suit your personal preferences.

    Faithful Samsung customer for 25 years...no longer

    I bought this TV on November 9th, 2024. It stopped working on November 10th, 2025... one day after the factory warranty expired. Evidently, this model has a known power supply issue that can cause the TV panel to stop working. Samsung is aware of this issue, but hasn't issued a recall. Samsung customer service would not help whatsoever. The customer service agent stayed on her script for over an hour and continued to tell me her manager was busy and wasn't available to speak to me. It's been a terrible experience. I've bought Samsung TV's for over 2 decades and have never had this level of difficulty with their product or customer service. They have lost a 25 year loyal customer. I would recommend buying a different tv and a different brand.. or you may end up having a 77" paper weight like me.

    Loved this TV until it died 14 months after purchase. Best Buy said it was out of the 12 monty warranty which it was but I contacted Samsung and they said I had two more days on the warranty. This model is notorious for power supply failures. Samsung sent out a tech to replace boards. No Joy. Totally dead. Samsung is working with me now to replace or reimburse us. I have 6 other Samsung TVs that have all been great. Swapping over to LG for my next one. Samsung customer service has been excellent.
