Still the best tv out there. Delivers one of the strongest combinations of picture quality, brightness, motion handling, and value under $1000, making it ideal for sports and streaming in a bright room. Its Full Array LED backlighting with local dimming provides better contrast and black levels than most TVs in the same price range, while Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR enhances color, detail, and upscaling so live sports, cable broadcasts, and streaming content look sharper and more natural. It also gets very bright in SDR, helping it overcome glare from typical room lighting, and runs Google TV.

I purchased this 65" TV in March 2025. I have had it approximately 6 months and I am thoroughly happy with my decision. I almost swapped it for a Samsung OLED but I'm glad I didn't. I replaced an older 40" Samsung smart tv that I have had for about 8 yrs but used Roku as the interface. It's still going strong and has been moved to my bedroom. This new Sony is Full Array which is the step below OLED and mini LED but I can say is as close to an OLED as you can get. The picture difference between them is minimal and it has blown the older tv out of the water as far as picture quality. I don't use Roku with this unit. The Google interface is good. I have had a few quirks occur now and then, but they are few and far between. This TV is very bright as compared to a lot of OLED models. So much so that I adjusted it down just a bit. I have very light sensitive eyes and white backgrounds especially at night bothered me. After the adjustment it was fine. If you have a bright room during the day, this TV will work great. I didn't find the auto ambient light feature worked well enough to bring down the brightness enough for my taste so hence the brightness adjustment. There are tons of adjustments on this TV which can be daunting to some but I'm a photography buff and very picky. I recommend you google the preferred settings for this unit as a starting point which are available online from techie reviewers if you are having trouble getting it like you want, then adjust from there. I played around a lot experimenting but now rarely touch it. The picture is stunning. The color is rich (Sony is known for their color processing) and rivals OLED and is an older, more proven technology with not as much concern for you news/sports watchers with respect to the banners at the bottom of the screen burning in. There are a few motion and moire issures but from what I have read, these are also present on many OLEDs as well. The moire is an effect that causes a twinkling in some patterns with tiny graphic lines. Think of a shirt with small tight herringbone type patterns. I have gotten used to it and is well worth it as the overall picture is so good. The sound is not as good as my old 40" but I run my setup through a Pioneer AV receiver with Klipsch tower speakers anyway. I would recommend a soundbar if you don't have an AV setup. I do like being able to run the tv speaker as a center simultaneously. This also allows me to switch my receiver to the radio using my receiver remote if I am watching/listening to two different broadcasts. Think of watching football while listening to the radio announcers broadcasting the same game. Many sports folks like to listen to their local college announcers on radio while watching the game. Go Dawgs! Just turn down the TV volume and you are set or you can switch between each audio at will. The over the air channel reception is light years beyond my older TV using the same flat digital antenna I used on my older unit. I attribute this to the atsc 3.0 tuner which is the latest version. Some other TVs in this price range did not have this upgrade. It allows over the air reception of higher quality as local channels begin to upgrade their broadcasts in the higher quality "NextGen" formats of 4k and soon to come 8K. As far as Dolby Vision (DV), etc. goes, I pay for very few streaming services to keep costs down so the premium services that broadcast these formats are of less of a concern of mine, though this TV does offer this feature. I have watched a movie in DV format and I thought it was worse than the standard HDR10. The buzz is that DV will be the format of choice going forward over Samsung's HDR10 and HDR10+. Samsung currently does not support DV so if this matters to you, go with Sony. It's a battle akin to Sony Beta vs VHR that occurred years ago. I originally was looking for a 55" replacement and needed to ditch the old armoire that was limited to a 40" max. I did some measuring and even cut two templates from velum paper to tape on my living room wall to see which size would work best. The 65" was only 100.00 more so I splurged and I'm glad I did. Having larger text at my age is a plus. As far as connectivity is concerned, I was frustrated at st that this TV would not connect to the internet. I am fairly tech savy and after calling the Geeks which was of no help (they only could offer the basics which I had already tried) , Sony and eventually my cable company I finally found the culprit. The cable guy suggested that I check my wireless modem settings. Once I dove into it on my PC, I found that the new IP address for the TV showed "blocked." Two clicks and it was fixed. It had nothing to do with this TV. Thanks to Alex at Best Buy in McDonough, Ga. for his help. He was a Samsung guru but was fine with me going with the Sony and understood my preferences. I don't think you can go wrong with this TV. My viewing experience has definitely been elevated.

This TV looks awesome!! Color is great. Picture is great. Got this for my other living room. Already have a LG C1 OLED. And I think this TV looks nicer. The colors are amazing. I like the interface of the software. Netflix/prime video/ect.. , all easy to set up. Also i like how there is different stand height according to if you use a soundbar or not. At $1000 price point, this has to be the best Tav at its price. First sony i ever owned. And im glad i got it. Only negative, im going to need a soundbar. Sound is not that great. Normal TV sound is fine, but when watching a movie music is super loud and can barely hear the talking.

The Sony 65 inch Tv is fabulous. I love the picture, the color and the Sony sound bar is awesome. Definitely need the sound bar. I feel like I am in a movie theater. Best purchase ever. The geek squad was the best. Tony and his helper did a wonderful job installing the tv and the sound bar with the wall mount. Thank you Best Buy .

I have an LG OLED and this Full Array LED tv looks great! Brightness can be adjusted for any type of bright or dark room. Operating system is super fast since it is google based. Sound is good too. Surprisingly does not need a soundbar for a smaller room. But a larger room I would recommend gettjng a sound bar.

Excellent entry level TV! Picture quality and brightness are really good. I like how all the HDMI port are in like, unlike the OLED that have some facing down and some facing to the side. Also very easy to wall mount.

Absolutely delighted by the picture on this Sony TV. The price is not so much more than the competitors and yet delivers clean resolutions and colors.

Colors displayed perfectly. Love watching shows than our previous LG HD tv. LG started showing blue hue that made me feel sick, thought something’s wrong with my eyes but it’s the tv short time. Sony had great reputation of lasting longer.

Setup was very simple and the picture quality was noticeably better than my previous TV. Colors look natural, blacks are pretty deep, and it gets bright enough even during the day. I mainly use it for streaming and gaming and everything runs smooth with no issues. The built-in apps work well and the remote is straightforward. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the sound is just average, but with a soundbar it’s perfect.

Great TV, even for an open box. I was looking for one of the top-tier TVs from Sony from 2025, but then I saw this 2023 Bravia XR Full Array only, not the Mini LED I was looking for. I took it home and put it side by side with the Bravia 5 that we had earlier, and believe it or not, this 2023 older model works the same or better than the new model. The contrast is exceptional, not as bright as the Bravia 5, but it does not need to be because the colors are just that good. The Bravia 5 is a little bit brighter because of the mini LED, but the 2023 model has nothing to envy the new model. When Sony made the XR full array, they made that good, and I guess that is the reason the 2023 model is still in the 2025 lineup (it is good). The picture quality is great for both TVs, especially when sitting in front of the TV, but the viewing angle from the sides is better for the 2023 XR. On the Bravia 5, the picture quality from the sides is not good, maybe because it has more dimming zones, so the change in picture quality is more noticeable. The Bravia 5 should be the best choice because it is a newer model, but after looking at both TVs side by side, I think I'll try to find another 2023 model if available, since they are cheaper than the 2025 model and work pretty much the same. Don't take me wrong, if you get the Bravia 5, it's fine, but if you still can get a hold of one of the 2023 models, you should give it a try, and at a lower price.

It's awesome and SO easy to get to what I want. I would recommend it for sure. The color is great and the ease of watching what I want and getting to it is super simple. I know there are more features that I have yet to figure out yet, I just need to take the time to do it! Over all, it was easy to set up also. I did it all by myself!

Thankful an employee decided to stop and go over the differences in resolution and explain the actual difference in prices. Beautiful colors and lighting for movies and games(ps5)
