    We received the TV in November and we tried to install it in January. We were mounting it in my hand gripping the TV to hang ithad cracked the screen now they told me it’s junk they can’t repair it and I’m out $2000.

    What happened Sony?

    After having this TV for one year I can say with 100% accuracy the picture is the only amazing feature that this TV has. The OS is very buggy and often malfunctions, when google is enable its sluggish and freezes repeatedly while in use. When you run in app only mode that is a little better but then other issue arise. 1. Randomly powering off when paired with the Sony sound bar and wireless sub-woofer. 2. WIFI constantly looses connectivity so often we had to switch to LAN connections and even then with 1GB fiber incoming the app’s freeze while in use. Other devices in the house have no issue connecting to the same app. 3. When using the media play with Plex server or USB drive payback is sluggish and largely unusable. I largely regret my purchase and have to now live with a TV that is not the normal experience that I am use to with Sony product. Sony has always been my goto manufacturer and this is the first time I have had to leave an unpleasant review. I largely believe that most of the issue with this TV is do the the Google Android OS, had Sony partnered with RUKU or Apple or just did their own Linux based OS this would be an amazing TV.

    Great picture but constantly having issues with streaming. Sony customer service is trash, 6 months of try this and try that with NO fix. After 6 months customer service said I was outside my one year warranty and had to argue the pointy the issue started 6 months after purchase, then they agreed they’d send out a tech but I had to pay to have tv removed from wall. Never buy Sony unless you have another form of streaming and again Customer service is TRASH… do not expect any positive results dealing with sony

    Sony has the worst support

    I do not recommend this TV for the fact that it had power issues within the first 2 months that would stop powering on completely and after calling Sony for tech support help they sent a third party tech repair only for the people to show up and crack our screen in the process and didn't take responsibility for doing it, we then tried calling Sony support for this issue and they did not want to make things right but only offered a slight discounted replacement for 1500 when this was not our fault at all, save the hassle and don't deal with Sony with their ridiculous nonsense, because of this issue I have learned to always take pictures of the thing needing repair before someone shows up to fix it or else they try blaming you for something they did. It is a real shame because we were really enjoying this TV when it did work but for it to break down after a short amount of time and dealing with the nonsense that is Sony I cannot ever recommend a Sony product ever again to anyone.

    Broken TV from Best Buy - no return policy

    Do not buy a TV from Best Buy! They don’t honor their return policy. I bought an 85 inch Sony big screen TV online and picked it up from my local Best Buy. Opened it and when we plugged it in saw the screen was cracked. Immediately packed it up and returned it only to be accused of breaking it. The Manager stated they only take defective produces not broken ones. They tricked me into taking the TV home telling me online Best Buy service would take care of me but online customer service won’t do anything because I picked it up in the store. Wow Best Buy… or Worst Buy. This huge TV now sits in our living room as Christmas approaches and no one from Best Buy will help. I researched Amazon and this TV has a history of getting broken in shipping but Amazon will replace it if it’s broken. Go with Amazon, or any store that values its customers and honors their return policies.

    We purchased this Sony TV 1.20.24 and by 2.15.24 the tv was losing the picture and sound at random intervals. Because the return window was closed, and the tv is still under Sony warranty, we have spent countless hours on the phone with Sony attempting to diagnose the problem. Two weeks later, Sony is replacing the tv. To add to further insult, we have to pay Best Buy $150 to mount a new tv. If we could, we would return the tv to Best Buy, but they won't take back their defective tv. We also paid for an extended warranty at the time of purchase. Extremely disappointed in the level of customer service.

    Buy a TV from a different brand but Sony

    Do not buy this TV. You won't believe this ... I bought this TV during Black Friday from a different retailer. Long story short, the TV arrived with a broken and scratched LCD panel. I returned the TV which was a complete hustle. I bought the TV again from BestBuy, and this time the unit arrived with a broken and damaged LCD screen again. I suspect there is something wrong with the TV manufacturing or packing. BestBuy replaced the TV with a new unit. This time I received a TV with hundreds of small gray marks on the screen. I thought the panel was dirty. However, after carefully cleaning the screen, these dots did not disappear. Obviously something is wrong with the LCD panel, and I am returning the TV again. At this point I give up. I am buying a new TV from a different brand but Sony. A couple of years ago, I bought a 70 inch Sony TV that stopped working after just two years of use. Now, I have had this horrible experience shopping a Sony TV. I will never buy a Sony product again!

    Dont buy this tv. Sales guy convinced us sony was superior to samsung and LG and we made the mistake of believing him. The tv glitches and freezes constantly and doesnt work with the new soundbar he also sold us. Now having to go back and forth with sony to try to get this resolved just a few months after purchasung it

    I don't know if this was a defective product but the picture quality was significantly lacking and almost reminiscent of tv quality 20+ years ago. The picture was dull, even after tweaking the factory settings. We thought Sony would be be the top brand but decided to return and get the Samsung QLED. Diametrically opposite quality. Hoping ours was perhaps a one off but decided to return.

      Performing a power reset may resolve this issue if it's caused by a temporary malfunction:

      -Unplug the TV power cord from the wall outlet (or from the back of the TV or power adapter if the power cord is detachable and accessible), wait two minutes, then plug the power cord back in.

      Note: If your TV power cord is completely inaccessible, you may be able to disconnect the power by temporarily turning off the circuit breaker switch to the power outlet used by your TV.

      Check if any devices connected to your TV are causing an issue (such as a malfunctioning device or a data communication issue):

      -Turn off the TV.
      -Disconnect all devices (including any external USB devices, hard drives, and all HDMI-connected devices) from the TV.
      -Turn on the TV and check if the issue goes away (which means the TV is not the cause). If the TV is working, continue with the steps to help identify the cause.
      -Reconnect your devices one at a time to your TV, testing the TV after connecting each device.
      -If the freezing happens after a certain device is connected, check that device for an issue.

      If not resolved, perform a factory reset:

      1. On the supplied remote control, press the (Quick Settings) button or HOME button depending on your TV.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select System → About → Reset → Factory data reset → Erase everything → Yes.

    I Really Wanted This TV

    We both wanted this TV to be great. However after a week it will not stay off. We shut it off and after about 8 seconds it pops on. It will not shutdown. So, I'm back with Samsung I will not purchase another Sony TV. My mistake. Don't make the same.

    And pick something else. This TV crashed after 15 months. Sony doesn't care. If you read the reviews, you'll see it happens to countless people. Wish we had been more careful before purchasing. We were loyal to the brand, but sadly appears it's not what it used to be. We just had a salesperson confirm what we experienced and suggested Samsung to replace this TV. Hoping this prevents someone from making the same mistake or at least invest in an extended warranty.

    Quit Working

    Very unhappy. Owned only for 1 1/2 years, The TV has stopped working with about 50 hours of screen time. It will not turn on. On-site service tech said it was a main board or power supply or both. Why spend well over 1/2 the replacement cost to repair? Very, very suprised at Sony. Won't buy again.
