Very nice for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to use as storage for a video game system. Works great right out of the box. Just $50 for 250 GB External. Sleek looking case. Stays pretty cool while operating. Very small, compact, and extremely portable. Thinking about ordering another one just to have a spare in case a need comes up for it.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product, I was skeptical, but was profoundly surprised by the ease of use and worth of the hard drive. I am a teacher and I use my home computer for some of my stuff and this HD is perfect for moving big files back and forth. I would recommend this to any one who has access to multiple computers, but do not want to carry a laptop for you many files.

Only Buy Seagate Drives!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had one of these little drives for nearly 2 years and it is still chugging right along. I have had a cheaper Western Digital that has bitten the dust in about 6 months. I will only buy Seagate drives from now on. You might have to pay a little more for these drives but they are totally worth it. This should be the biggest factor in purchasing an external drive. Western Digital drives come with a 2 year warranty. This means that they think that their drives will die somewhere just past the 2 year life of the drive. Seagate has a 5 year warranty. This means that they think that their drives will last more than 5 years. Major difference. Save your time, memories, productivity, and sanity buy going with a real hard drive company like Seagate.

Quick, efficient, adaptable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I think it was a good buy. You will probably find other hardrives with more space for a cheaper price, but this offers a decent warranty and doesn't come from a no name company. It worked seamlessly with windows seven, and it was immediately working straight out of the box. My only complaint is that the cover plastic is this shiny mirror plastic that will blatantly show any and all fingerprints and dust. Of course that is also my only problem with this drive. I wasn't looking for a big drive, just a standard backup. This is one of the few smaller ones that is of decent price.

Nice usb drive for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish it had a little bigger capacity. I thought it was 250gb but in reality it is only 232gb. Otherwise I bought the replica software that is offered to you when you register the product and it is really easy to use. Now my harddrive is fully backed up every time a change is made to it. The full hard drive, not just documents. I am very pleased with this product and would definately buy it again.

Good stuff !!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Anyway it worth the price, a lot of storage opportunity, very heavy for a portable device, and useful for any laptop that makes you keep the good performance.

Seagate 250 GB USB Drive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The external drive works very well so far--it seems fast and while not the largest of external drives in terms of space, sufficient for my needs. The body seems delicate compared to an older external Seagate USB drive I have which had a very rugged body. The USB cord is useable but much shorter than I would have thought and the part of the cable that connects to the external drive is specific to that connection so if the cord is lost, the drive would be useless. Given the sale price, it seemed like an excellent purchase for its size.

Q: Questionis it wireless or does it come with a cord
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The 250GB External USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive is connected by a USB 2.0 cord. It is not a wireless device. We do have wireless network drives available. The GoFlex Home drive connects to your router (via an ethernet cable) then transmits wireless on your network if your router has wireless capability. The Satellite drive is more tailored toward media streaming wirelessly to mobile devices. We have included both in My Product Recommendations.

Q: Questioncompatible with windows 98 transfering Sony SonicstageMy external hard drive was removed from my old computer, and I have music on that drive, the software I was using was a Sonicstage by Sony. If I transfer my music from Sonicstage or Sonicstage to the external drive will this play my music as well as copying music to a disc. I believe the window program was windows 98, but I'm not sure at present. But will the transfer work on my laptop with the upto date windows program.
Asked by Oceanwonders.
- A:Answer Our external Seagate 250GB External USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive is not supported with Windows 98. The supported operating systems for this drive is Windows XP, Vista and 7. It is unclear if your music files would be transferable to this drive or whether they would run correctly on the new computer. It really depends on the file type of the music file and if a program on your new computer is compatible with the music file type.

Q: QuestionIs this item compatible with previous FREEAGENT DOCKS for desktop?I have a dock that holds a free agent from previous versions of segate.
Asked by oscurito.
- A:Answer The Seagate Expansion drive does not fit in the dock designed for the FreeAgent Go family of drives. There was one dock for the FreeAgent Go drives, the FreeAgent Go Dock+ that included a USB port that another external drive could be plugged into. This drive will not fit in the top slot, but if you have one of the Dock+ devices, it can be plugged in via USB cable.
