I have a Dyson & a Kirby already, as well as 4 kids, a cat, birds, and 2 dogs. Vacuuming happens daily in our house, sometimes a couple of times each day. I was looking for something powerful, easy to use, on board attachments, and preferably cordless. After researching, I gave up on a cordless model because a $500 vacuum would only give me 15 mins of run time.
I like the Shark Rocket. I use it on carpet, hardwood, and tile and it's convenient and powerful. I haven't bothered to turn off the brush option & it still picks up on flat surfaces really well. Cat litter & bird seed are no problem. Like a Kirby, it is self propelled which is nice. The dirt cup is easy to access & dump. It picks up animal & people hair like a champ, but be prepared to clean the rotating head brush occasionally. It's super easy to vacuum on steps with the power head or an attachment. Low profile, which makes it much easier to clean under furniture & it vacuums when it's laying flat too. The swivel head is nice, similar movement to the Dyson ball models.
The downsides are that it won't stand on it's own. Be prepared to lay it flat on the ground or back on it's storage hook. The head is smaller than a standard vacuum. This adds a little time since it doesn't cover as much floor space at one time. Included accessories are minimal-a wand/crevice tool & 2 attachment heads. The dirt cup is smallish. Not a big deal to me, but you can probably count on dumping it every other time you vacuum.
Overall, it's a good buy. It's the first vacuum I reach for over my Dyson & Kirby just for convenience. I do recommend trying it in the store. I went to Best Buy because they let you test drive all the vacuums. I also tried the orange Rocket model, but went with this one because the cleaning head was slightly larger, it swiveled a little easier, and seemed to have better suction.

I clean houses for a living, and have big vacuum's, heavy bulky. So many homes, including mine have carpet and wood, and lots of both. This vacuum is so easy to switch from hard to carpet. So happy I chose the Shark with the light, I can see cobwebs I can't see without it, I an see dust and dog hair that I can't see without the light. The container that holds what you vac up is small, but it does such good job sucking up stuff, I don't care! Very easy to empty. I love my Shark.

Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro is light weight, easy to maneuver but has great suction. I have back and shoulder issues but I'm able to use this vacuum with no problems at all.

Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro

Works very well for a compact unit. Just as good as my old Dyson, but at a lower price. Not as powerful as my Kenmore Canister with a bag, but easier to get out and use for quick cleanups. Nice long cord.

More than we expected, love it.

I was a little skeptical to get a shark since I've owned a kirby the last 4 years. I wish I knew then what I know now...the shark deluxe pro picked up dirt in places I didn't know I had. I vacuumed with it right after using my kirby and boy was I in shock. All these years my floor was never getting cleaned. Now I don't have any worries. I'll never buy another brand again. The swivel makes it easy to get in places you normally wouldn't reach without moving furniture. The fact it's much lighter than what I'm used to just makes me want to vacuum all day. 5 stars!

Super Light Weight, excellent maneuverability

So much easier to use than my Dyson. So light weight I can easily carry it up the stairs. I have a pet, so I have more hair to vacuuum. The dust cup on the Deluxe Pro is twice as large as on the otherShark and it's well worth it. This is also the best handheld vacuum of any I have ever had.

Easier lighter and stronger than expected

While the salesperson was not a lot of help, i was pleasantly surprised with the power of this little vacuum. I could tell on the store sales floor it was lighter and easier than the upright i have but was afraid it would only be a glorified "dust buster" . I was very wrong and pleasantly surprised. It was also nice to go from carpet to hardwood/tile with only the push of the button on the handle. love the attachments too.

After getting rid of all the carpet in my bedrooms, I needed a good bare floor corded vacuum to clean my whole house with four cats. One room has bamboo, the rest of the house is tile. This vacuum is so versatile and easy to change its attachments with just a click. I'm glad I bought this model with the lights! And I love the floor genie attachment! I'm very happy with my purchase!

I always had uprights and tried to keep to a budget. The wife and I have 3 small dogs and the last dirt devil just wouldn't get the fur out of the rugs even with a new hepa filter. So for me this vacuum had a lot to deliver for twice my normal budget. WOW, it is 1/2 the weight yet 5 times more powerful. The first cleaning required 4 dirt cup empties. Now 1 per cleaning a 1200 sf home. Also takes 1/2 the time. The hardwood floor tool is nice and does better than a dust mop by far. The lights are nice to see when vacuuming under furniture too. Just wish it would clean on its own like a roomba:)
