Strongly Recommended - Save On Monthly Modem Rent

Had Optimum Online for years and used the same DOCSIS 3.0 modem (surfboard) and I switched to this modem from TP-Link a few days ago. No issues and getting the same exact speeds.
** Note that if you cannot get it to connect when you first turn it on, press the reset button for 15 seconds to reset it and it should connect with no issues. Had this "issue" when trying to connect to Cablevision/Optimum and eventually got online after speaking with TP Link. Hope this helps someone out there! **

Easy install, works perfectly

Bought to replace leased $10/month Comcast modem. Installed fast and easy, and it's been working perfectly. Benchmarked 90MB down, 12MB up, which is faster than the leased modem. Wish we had bought it sooner.

End rental fee
Posted by: mclub71 from: on
I have Time Warner phone and internet. Their modem would reset at least once a day up to 5 times a day. They would always say it was my wiring. They would come out and change splitters and ends. It was never their modem. I decided to try this modem compared to the higher priced ARRIS 6141. I'm glad I did. Not one reboot in 3 weeks. I also eliminated my rental fee since they cannot charge for their modem to use for the phone.

I bought this modem to replace the rental from Time Warner. It is compatible and works fine. Saves me a few dollars each month off my bill.

Good coverage for many devices
Posted by: mom22kids from: on
I purchased this because it was recommended for Xfinity, but I did my research before buying as well. I have a two level home with 3 iphones, 2 ipods, an ipad and a tablet, and Xbox One all going on it. So far, I can't complain about the modem, wish I could say the same about Comcast; I have to rent their gateway until they replace the wires out along my street before I can reconnect this modem because the leaks in their wiring keep dropping my wifi on this modem..

Works but needed faster modem
Posted by: xmusa from: on
This modem works better than the leased one from Time Warner.
Activated without any issues. However, this modem is only capable of 100mbps down with Time Warner. I just switched to 200Mbps so I had to return it in less than a month for faster modem. It was my fault not checking compatibility with Time Warner prior to purchasing.

Great Price for Solid Router
Posted by: SportsFan from: on
I purchased this router after comparing ratings, reviews and prices on routers compatible with my TWC internet subscription. This router had better ratings and reviews than more expensive routers, and the sale price at the time made this an easy decision to at least try it out.
What I have found is that this router is more reliable than the router I had been leasing from TWC. Given what I paid for the router, I am saving about $60 in my first year of use, and stand to save approximately $120 next year. I am very pleased with this purchase.
