My 12 year old son loves it. After a saftey talk about the how hot the end gets. He picked it up and started making little 3d doodles and toys within hours.

Amazing creative tool to help innovate ideas. Use it for small scale ideas.

Got this as a gift for a friend who is into art. She’s learning the ropes and will hopefully adapt it into her work

Be warned, nowhere in their about details does it inform it is not compatible with any other filament. This is the Keurig of 3d pens. Pathetic!

The 3doodlers pen systems are nice and great for beginners, but you are locked into their proprietary size of filament. Meaning you completely lock yourself off from the entire 3D printing world and the thousands of amazing filaments created by hundreds of amazing popular companies. There are other 3D pen companies that will allow you to use the popular universal filament size but 3doodle is not one of them.

This is amazing it dose all kinds of different materials. It’s grate for fixing stuff as well as making new ideas. It’s compatible with 3mm plastic that is the other standard (alternative to 1.75). So I had no issues getting some alternative materials like steel filament and using it. It works well with the third party material in its custom mode. I would recommend this 100% if you are interested in creating things in 3D, fixing things made of plastic or want to do free hand design. I noticed that some people think it uses proprietary filament size but that is not true it just uses the other standard. Same as a ultra maker and several other 3D printers.

Overall this is a very good product, however I wish to correct something another reviewer stated, this pen CAN accept most 2.85mm spooled filament, if cut into 10" lengths. This information was provided to me from 3doodler technical/customer support.
