Do these earbuds charge only when in the case? If you lose the case, can you buy a replacement case or do you have to buy another pair of earbuds?

The case acts as a portable battery bank, supplying power to the earbud contacts when stored, and does not support direct charging of the earbuds without the case. The case itself is not available as a standalone accessory.
