I bought this for my daughter and she loves it! It is small enough to fit anywhere. She sets the wake up alarm, sets reminders, timers, and plays music. It was a great purchase!

I have twin 7 year old boys and they love their Echo Dot Kids Edition. They listen to music, set their alarm for the morning, and even play learning games with Alexa.

The Kids Echo Dot is easy to do and use. Bought it for my 5 year old granddaughter's birthday and after quick setup, she was using it right away, asking it to play songs, tell jokes and read stories. She loves it to turn on her light for her.

Purchased for my 4yr old to keep in his room without worry of inappropriate content being played on it or having ours taken over by him. He plays music all day, listen a to its jokes, and has it read him stories constantly. Great purchase for kids.

he product itself, the Echo Dot is a 5 star product. The Freetime service itself is also great and if you DON'T ALREADY HAVE FREETIME this is a great thing to buy. But if you already have Freetime then the price difference really isn't justified. Freetime is, essentially, just a parent control suite, albeit a VERY good one with a lot of customization options. There is nothing in this hardware that is different from an off the shelf echo dot except the case (and you can find comparable cases for less than the price difference. Amazon has been pretty cagey about this. This is an Echo Dot that comes with a case and a year of Freetime. But if you already have Freetime service you can just turn it on on any existing Echo device, no need to purchase the special "kid's edition" there's NOTHING different about the hardware itself.

I bought the children’s echo for my grandson for Christmas and he didn’t put it down all day. It keeps him occupied. I love it. It’s easy for a child to use and he loves the color. The price was good.

This is my second Echo dot. I use it mostly for a back up alarm clock. I can have it wake me up to music and I love that! Very much worth the price.

This is the sweetest invention! We're buying this Echo for a 9 year old girl, for Christmas. It's all she can talk about. It reads stories, tells jokes and many other fun things as described on the box. If your looking for a great gift, boy or girl in the 8 -12 year old range, consider this one. It's on sale at Best Buy for $69.99, but it normal price is $79.99. Either way, you will be the winner with the Echo, for any special occasion.

Here's the bottom line: it's a previous-generation echo in a simple case and with purchasing disabled. BUT (and this is the big selling point) it lets our daughter act like the "grown ups" by asking Alexa questions and getting her music whenever she wants. Plus, the intercom/announcement feature had been useful so honestly it has been an unnecessary but enjoyable impulse buy.

We bought Alexa’s for around the house and I ended up buying the kids one since they stole ours all the time. We ended up turning off the kids function because it screened mainly everything they wanted. Like the song “Basketball” by Lil BowWow. Kid friendly but not available. I would recommend just getting the regular Alexa. It’s the same exact thing without the blue case.

so nice to have the kid setting already in place. Unfortunately a year later it does not always connect to well and won't work. But after a few minutes of being unplugged and then re-plugged in it's all good. We use this daily so it defiantly has gotten use!

Bought this for my 18 month old Grandson. Was actually looking for info on an Amazon Free Time subscription. The subscription is $83, so buying this Dot was a no brainer. Very entertaining, reduces TV time. Several toddler age playlists. Bonus is that the Dot also is backed by Amazon with a 2 year accidental warranty.

I bought this for my grandchildren (5 and 8-1/2) to have at my house. They LOVE it! They ask the time, the weather, play music, play games, practice Spanish, take quizzes, and all kinds of educational things. It can also connect to the Echo in my office. I highly recommend it!
