First off, it's not a secret that this tablet's Operating System is, at it's core, Android. That being the case, I hate Amazon's dark, bland, customized, user interface, I hate the intrusive, obnoxious and often confusing lockscreen ads and I hate the boxed-in feeling of the decidedly iOS-like experience that I'm left with. Beyond that, the thing is built like a tank, it feels good in the hands and it just WORKS well. While I vehemently disagree with them about what you end up with as a software experience, Amazon knows what they're doing. It works and it pushes their corporate agenda. If you're not interested in plugging into the Amazon ecosystem and you don't want to bother with a few minutes of nerve jungling but simple software hackery to overcome that... a little..., then this device is NOT for you but, you'll be missing out on a VERY good performer for the price because, honestly, it's great little device! My three year old absolutely LOVES it and, for the price, even the Android purist in me can tolerate it with a straight face and a small degree of satisfaction.

Got one during the thanksgiving deals!! If you are looking for a tablet to browse, read books or do simple amazon shopping this is a good tablet for the price. Amazon store does't have all the apps like andriod or ios but certainly has enough to keep you going. Only reason for a missing start, I feel the tablets performance is slow, see lag swiping between pages and the camera is just for the sake of having one, not even a decent quality... otherwise good tablet for the price.

I originally bought the 8gb Fire 7- 7' for $30 but had to upgrade to the 16gb for like $60. It's a little smaller than what I thought it would be BUT still functional. I think an inch or 2 more it would be the size of some of the larger smartphones. Pros: Lightweight, small (great for purse, small briefcase storage), color selections. Cons: Could be too small for some people (origninally for my young nieces, great idea BUT given it to my parents maybe too small for them). Also, I was bummed that the Fire 8 was cheaper than the Fire 7 and I had already bought accesories for the Fire 7. OVERALL: No a bad purchase... My parents like their Tablets.

Aside from all the advantages and conveniences a small tablet offers, this tablet is an easy to carry book reader. .Easy on the eyes and, if you like, it can read your book to you or play your fav songs.

Easy to use, great size. Alexa works well, for the most part. Also like that it syncs up with your Amazon account. Bluetooth and wifi both work well. The only thing is if you don't like to see ads on the start screen pay the extra to get it with no ads. You can pay to turn them off later as well if you choose on your Amazon account.

Amazon tablets are great, they're straightforward to use. When you first fire the thing up it walks you thru a tutorial of all of the available features with the tablet and Alexa functionality. Tablet works well for watching movies and shows, as well as playing music. Does slow down a little when you get close to your storage limit, or have too many Amazon profiles linked. This functions as a kids device as well when you enable amazon free time/amazon family. Interface will match that of the Amazon kids tablets after that for child users.

The kindle fire is easy to use, you can get your email, read a book, play a game, search the web. It's affordable and holds up well.

Thin, light-weight, easy to carry in my purse. Comfortable fit in my hand. Lasts hours longer than my old Kindle. Easy to access settings to change brightness from outside sun to bedtime night reading.

I bought two of these. The first was for my 10 year old for his birthday and my older son loved it as well so I bought one for him for Christmas. Even my four year old uses it. It’s easy for them to navigate. They mostly use it for games, music and schoolwork. Can’t beat the price.

I like my old Kindle Fire better than this 7th generation. No one carries the screen protectors or a decent case for it. You have to order them online. The battery usage meter & time on the new one is very tiny. If you are playing a game, or in an app, you can't tap the bottom of your game to see battery usage or time. There's no carousel. It's set up like a phone home page. Thought the speed would be faster...it's not. Just very disappointed. There are other issues, but, I don't remember what they are right now, because I don't use it much. I actually use my old K.F. all the time, every day.

Got this for a gift and have used Anson tablets for a while now. Make sure to get the 16 gb version and/or an extra micro SD card for extra storage if you want to use a bunch of apps or consume Amazon content.

Pros - For the price of an MP3 player, you get so much more entertainment & internet access. Apps are Amazon-centric, still you can access missing Apps (e.g., YouTube) via the internet. I like the ability to add memory-laden files via micro sd card. Cons - The camera creates poor quality images. And I'm rankled that I can't remove adds from the lock screen. This tablet is my property, I should have a choice in the matter.

I have both nook and amazon fire, and I love the monthly options for reading on the fire!! By far a more economical choice for reading books- especially if you read a lot.

My daughter was looking for a purse size tablet to use at the airport to read and pass the time. A representative recommended this, it is good value for the money.

I bought this to replace a Kindle that I have had for 8 years. So there is a whole lot of differences. I like them all. There is only one thing they changed that I don't like. I use this mainly for reading. On my old Kindle fire when you purchased a new book it appeared on a shelf. Books you have read where in your library. The new one just puts everything in your library together. So you have to search for the books you haven't read yet. Maybe there is away to separate them. I just haven't figured it out if there is.

I was able to order this on the day I broke my old one, and picked up the next day. This is a great deal and heavily utilized.
