Siri is a terrible assistant. This is a terribly positioned Apple product.

I’m an Apple guy who wanted to get rid of Alexa once and for all. Unfortunately this is the worst Apple product ever. It can not answer questions other than weather. Ask anything else and it says “I found an answer online, ask again from your phone to view it”. I even asked when new episodes of an Apple TV show come out and it said to ask from my phone. I checked online, everyone says the same. I checked settings and even contacted Apple support to no avail. The sound is much better than the Echo Studio, but I have a pair of high quality audio speakers.

The amount of connection issues is unreal. I bought 2 for a stereo pair for my Apple TV and one will play while the other one won’t connect to the internet. So you have to restart them every day multiple times. When it does work it works well but I would not recommend these for that reason. Also the hdmi arc will work but sometimes it doesn’t. The only way I can get it to reconnect is by going into Apple TV setttings and switching from HomePods to tv speakers and back again. Then you have to connect it back to arc. It’s been a problem and I have yet to have a day where they just work. So far this is the only apple product that’s given me this much trouble ever. Also sometimes it will tell me it’s not connected to the internet but still plays. If an update changes this then I will change my review but until then this item is a dud.

First: it is not worth paying triple what the HomePod Mini costs. They do exactly the same Second: It doesn't work well. It does not respond to Siri commands, it disconnects from HUE Philips several times a day. Wasted money

I wouldn’t recommend this. Could not connect it. Recommend Apple comes out with something new that works.

Completely disappointed with the product as it never connected. Was on the phone with Apple for over an hour during 2 separate phone calls. Nothing we tried (including failed attempts at factory resets) worked to get the device to connect. Tried pairing using Apple's Home app separately through an iPad and through an iPhone; neither worked. Returned the product with the helpful assistance of Best Buy.

I've learned not to buy open box electronics from BestBuy as I purchased two of these for my 5th wheel camper to play in conjunction with Apple 4K TV. They were still set up from the previous owners (driven by WiFi, not Blue Tooth) and when I called BestBuy for assistance, they wanted $149 to help me. Eventually I figured out how to reset them but never could get them to work so I returned them. I guessing they were returned because they didn't work from the beginning - far from certified. I purchased two new Apple HomePod Minis and they immediately set up.

Yes I said it first. I told the truth. I purchased 2 of these to put on the side of my tv and remove my 7.1 channel audio system. Boy was all the reviews absolutely wrong or paid off. These speakers have absolutely no base , music or movies. I kept trying to hear the bass but all I heard was …….. crickets …. Lol no, just no bass. My LG boom speaker and Bose portable speaker has much more base. I am a Apple fan also, but junk is junk. Any review that rates these more than one star , well they know not what they hear or know not what sound should actually sound like. I actually ended up getting a Samsung q990b sound bar and returned that for the Bose 900 with 700sub and surround speakers. Night and day But again my LG Boom and Bose portable speaker sound light years ahead of this Apple HomePods,

While the sound and features are good. The bigger bang for the buck is the home pod mini. For the price it is not twice as good and for sure it’s not three times as good.

So not buy if you plan interact with Siri through the HomePod. Some genius engineer at Apple decided that Siri can only speak at a volume between 30-100, which means if you use the HomePod in any relatively small room (office, bathroom, etc.) that Siri literally screams at you. It took Apple support almost 2 months and 4 support tickets to figure out that Siri just can’t speak at a volume below 30 - it’s hard coded in the software. The Apple support person suggested I sell my HomePod and buy something that had Alex. That tells you everything you need to know about the current state of Apple and Siri. Spend your money son literally anything else.

This speaker will refuse to connect to your wifi of choice and does not even have a bluetooth option as a backup. Worst apple product yet.

On paper this was exactly what I needed. Until I heard it. I know most wireless speaker systems add signal processing to help the audio “fit” their speaker better. This was horrible. Low end was way over powering. Top end was thin and distorted even at low volumes. I’ll put it this way. You will get better sound quality out of a Wonderboom 3. Which I returned it for. I’ve never returned an Apple device in the 20 years I’ve been a customer. Swing and a miss…

Best Buy has a huge quality control issue with their open box items. The HomePod that was in the box had a different serial # than what is printed on the box. Makes service and returns impossible to get.

Very dissappointed in these. These speakers have no body to them. Just treble with no bass. Tried using two for home audio but they do not deliver. Spend your money on a true sound bar if youre considering using these for the “stereo” setup.

Bought this as a what said “excellent” open box. Suppose to be gone over by the geek squad. Opened it and it was not set to factory setting. It was dirty and definitely not excellent condition. Unfortunately it was a gift for my son so I have to make it work.

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I purchased a second HomePod after buying my first one and thinking it sounded bad; what a waste of money. Seriously, a cheap google mini or echo thing sounds better than these do all day long. The bass is pathetic, no mids and the voice quality is horrendous. Then, after realizing how poorly the speakers sound, I'm even less impressed by Siri and/or whatever junk software, they have stuffed into these. In a houseful of Apple products, these are an absolute FAIL.
