Q: DO NOT BUY THIS. Arris has reported that customers who use Xfinity are experiencing constant interruptions including myself. Their website says they are aware of the problem. It's been almost a year and the issue still persists.

A: By default the lease time is 1 day. Each day, you will see a small hiccup while your internal IP# is dropped and reassigned. All modems have a lease time. Set it to a high value. Some modems, like this G34/G36 have a "forever" setting to which is will never renew the lease. I can not speak for Infinity but I've had no issues with this modem. I suspect you might be confusing Infinity "constant interruptions" for the default 1 hour default lease time which would result in a small hiccup every hour. Just change it to a higher/forever value!

    Great Modem for reliability

    Have long used Arris modems in my homes and work. Decided to upgrade my equipment this spring and decided on another Arris modem and could not be more pleased. I did call tech support to help me get in bridge mode and they were quick and efficient on the telephone call. Now I get gigabit speeds that I was lacking and prefer to use my own router setup not having to deal with a specific internet provider. I would highly recommend.

    First time customer of the arris surfboard!

    This is my first purchase of a arris surfboard cable WiFi modem router and could admit it was easier than expected to install plus I was able to download the app log in credentials were not an issue. I’m able to log in my account with no issues unlike my previous WiFi cable modem router. The only thing you gotta do is contact your internet connection provider to see if the device your interested is compatible with their network.
