I thought that was it for me and Assassin's Creed... until I tried one more time with AC4 Black Flag. Most of the fat has been trimmed away to provide us with a truly enjoyable romp around the Caribbean as an Assassin Pirate. Unlike some other characters in this franchise, Edward Kenway is a great character right form the beginning. He's not as boring as Connor and you don't have to grow into him like Ezio. The gameplay is typical AC fare, so if you hate the games to begin with, this isn't likely to change your mind. The naval combat is fun, raiding ships and towns is a blast, and even the underlying story is pretty decently penned. My only real gripes are that some of the gameplay can be a little repetitive (typical of ANY open world game) and the graphics just don't quite look next gen. Don't get me wrong, they look better than the PS3 and 360 versions, but they pale in comparison to dedicated examples like Tomb Raider:Definitive Edition.
