Used this for about 8 months and worked great to ensure I had a clear image and proper sound while using my PS5 and my laptop for multitasking. This device does seem to over heat if used for more than a few hours a day, so it does need some caution in usage and improvements to manage possible audio issues from item overheating.

This does exactly what it says it will. I'm slightly concerned about the longevity of the item. I played The Last of Us Part II for 3-1/2 hours and this part got fairly hot, not so hot that I couldn't hold it but warmer than my hands. Easy, plug n play setup, cheaper than buying another headset.

I really dont uderstand all the negative reviews. This adapter works just fine. Gets the job done with zero issues. I even bought the insignia 4 port hub to use that as a splitter and connect it to my ps5 so i can use the last port for my external hard drive and it still works great. Until astro releases another headset for next gen i’ll be rocking this setup.

This Astro adapter gets really hot during game play and also it looses signal to the hdmi port during game play and kicks back in which I don’t like make you loose a gun battle in Cold War that’s my honest opinion about this Astro adapter

Works good and fast delivery and easy to step up. I would definitely recommend it.

I highly recommend this item it really does give you the ability to get both sounds from the headset game & voice at the same time rather than plugging the headset optical cable to a TV which does not give you both game & voice audio at the same time

Ive had one before for about 3 years. Im hard on all my equipment, so getting 3 yrs out of it was dope. Also at least in my search its the most bang for your buck compared to competitors which were twice as expensive and only ran at 60fps when this does 120. Highly recommend.

That's awesome to hear! Getting three years out of your previous adapter, especially with heavy use, is definitely impressive! We're also glad you feel it offers the best value compared to more expensive alternatives and that the 120fps capability meets your needs. I don’t understand the other negative reviews but it works for me as it should. I have the A50 wireless headset and needed this for the headset to work properly. I have not noticed a reduction in video resolution. PS5 and my monitor is stating that it’s displaying at 4K. Only 1 thing that bothers me and the other one does not matter to me. The adapter takes up a USB slot so when Sony finally has external storage available and it requires a USB port then there is no place for it. The front port is used for charging my controller and the back two are used by the headset docking station and the adapter. Only thing left is the USB-C port and maybe Sony will utilize that for external storage. The other thing is that the audio settings for the headset should be Bitstream (Dolby) but once I switch it over to that it begins to crackle like an audio cable is not working properly. The one that works fine would be the Linear PCM audio. No issues there and it honestly does not make a difference for me. Other than that, it works perfectly fine for me and it’s just what I needed.

Have to use this with my Astro A50s and it works great with my PS5. Supports 1080p @120hz which is a must. Great Product.

It works as intended. Just make sure you buy the newer higher bandwidth cables, 48gbps I believe. I have astro TR40 with base, it is the older one. Fyi i only have a 60hrz tv but with using the better cables from the playstation to the adapter and tge same to your tv, you should be able to get 120hrz. But if that is not correct please let me know so i can correct this post.

I'm using this for a soundbar. MY monitor does not have audio out and the PS5 has nonother outputs other than USB and HDMI. Astro works great using Optical out to mu soundbar. Problem solved.
