Bought this laptop in April 2024. Within 6 months, it kept giving error such as WIFI connectivity and few others. Got it serviced within warranty period but still same problems resurfaced again.

Important. Before I ramble on here is the basic step for this laptop Note oobe\bypasnro 1. Open box do not turn on right away. Entering the setup process for Windows S Mode will lock the hardware. 2. Create a Windows 11 home USB using Windows media creator 3. Insert USB drive and turn on the laptop and load into bio / ueif (F2 or delete key soon as you boot the computer) 4. Proceed to install Windows 11 home over windows S mode that they have on there 5. Once loaded you will probably have to fix some drivers. There are a few devices that are affected so whichever one's affect you go to the manufacturer website and download the two latest drivers.(yes both) 6 open device manager and uninstall any of the drivers for whatever device is not working. Load the set drivers downloaded before trying the newest one first. If you are having issues still go back and install the second oldest. 7. Open up services and disable syswow, it will not affect your usage but it severely slows down this laptop. If you would like more speed you can also disable Windows search but that does make the little search bar in Windows Explorer more time consuming, it's shuts off search indexing. Makes it take a little longer to search. 8 yes there's more.. After all of that go ahead and open up command prompt or Powershell. Run sfc / scannow More than likely this will come up with Integrity errors and should repair them now run it again. 9 make sure your computer is completely up to date through Windows update. Restart the computer 10 last step I swear rerun the sfc /scannow command. More than likely it will come up with Integrity violations again. And resolve them itself. Run it a second time and verify there are no violations. Then restart the computer. Once it's restarted run the sfc /scannow one last time. It should not come up with any violations this time. You should be good to go. If you're still getting some Integrity violations there you can run the dism command which can be found online for rebuilding windows. I did not have to go this far though on any of the ones I installed So I bought a few of these of these when they were on sale got them for about $450 I believe. For that price it's a really good laptop. There was some good things and there are some bad things. First off Windows S Mode?? Are you kidding me Microsoft. So I learned from a ton of troubleshooting there are ways to make this laptop run a lot better than it does out of the box. First off just install home Edition from the start don't mess with S Mode at all plug your USB in and run the installer for Windows 11 home. Do not try to go through the setup for Windows S Mode. It has a stupid feature where it locks the hardware if you don't go through S modes installer completely took me a while to figure out how to do it but I did eventually get around that. The best bet is to install Windows 10 home right out of the box it'll start working a lot better first off seconds a lot of the issues that people State on the low star reviews I saw some of them most of them were driver issues. As concerning the mic the Bluetooth and all that you have to roll back the drivers. Most of them were one driver over updated somewhere two or three. They all seem to work including the Wi-Fi Bluetooth card, the internal mic and other, and others that people have mentioned in the one and two star reviews. If it came with home they would have probably gotten four stars because it's not the greatest but coming with the S Mode is terrible. It shouldn't even be allowed to lock you into Microsoft. My other big big complaint is the screen the screen is terrible I've seen better screens on $300 laptops than that. The colors are so washed out and dim. it is not very bright either. Very low nits even at its brightest setting it just isn't good at all. If you're thinking about using it outside during the day think again. The display is almost unusable in sunlight. It does also have a really bad angle of view. You have to be looking straight on to it to see the colors and the screen properly if you go a little bit to the left or right with your view almost impossible to seeing use. Then again that could be for privacy but honestly I think it's just a bad screen. All in all I did like the computer and the customer loved it. But this is an honest review I personally would not buy it for myself. The Ryzen 7 and 12 gigs of memory at this price is an incredible deal though. Yet again take some work to get working properly they do not work like they should out of the box. You do have to go into the bios, rather ueif I should say, change some of the settings in order to get proper performance. You also have to disabled one or two windows processes in order to have it run the way it should for some reason even home has some weird instances of bottlenecking. I'm a computer repair technician and owner of a company. I was able to figure this out but for the average person I would say no they would have given up and returned it like some of the review said. I like Asus at the brand and I own one of their laptops currently in use almost everyday I am very happy with it I really haven't had any issues with their products over the years that I've owned them I had Asus products for at least 10 years maybe more I've always been happy with their quality. But everybody has a bad unit here and there. I would definitely recommend this laptop to anybody who has some technical experience who can reload Windows and change some settings to get the laptop working the way it should. You should not buy this laptop. The way it comes out of the box is not going to be user friendly especially S Mode. But with a little tinkering and some extra time to install and change settings it's well worth the $450 it is at now. I would never buy this for anybody if it was at its normal price that is absurd. Probably extra work you have to put in no wonder why they sell it so cheap. One last thing of my ramblings I almost forgot to mention it is ddr4 RAM. It is last generation we are on ddr5 now and you shouldn't buy anything that's last generation in my opinion you should stay up to date and current as much as possible when buying a new computer so that it last you the longest. Overall this is a good computer with good specifications and good parts it is just crap because of Windows 7 and some bad drivers issues which mostly is Microsoft's fault. So I rated it three stars. It would have been a four star if it came all set up for Windows home. It would have been a one star if I couldn't have gone around it. Hopefully people read this and learn from my mistakes I spent several hours once I started to set it up and realized it was in S Mode. I stopped the installation and tried to reload Windows. The pond trying to reload the Home software. unfortunately found out all the hardware was locked down because the stupid S Mode.

Overall this is a decent laptop for general webpage viewing and using MS Office. The 12MB of RAM allows the computer to handle more applications at one time and the processor is fairly quick. It would be nice if the laptop had more hard-drive space, but the 512GB is enough for our need. We bought a flash drive to store other files. My wife's biggest complaint is the keyboard. It is fairly tight with the spacing and can be a little difficult to type, especially using the number keys. I do wish I would have not bought the open box item though. The laptop was in excellent condition, but Best Buy doesn't price match if you buy an open box. Seems silly because I could have returned the laptop and bought a new open box and saved $40 but in the end, it just wasn't worth the hassle since I had already loaded my profile and MS Office onto the computer.

The ASUS Vivobook 16" Laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS initially promises solid specs, but the experience falls short. The build quality feels subpar, with a flimsy chassis that doesn't inspire confidence. Performance issues like system hangs disrupt workflow, undermining the potential of its decent hardware. While the 12GB memory and 512GB SSD are appealing on paper, the poor reliability and construction make it hard to recommend. A disappointing option for its price range.

I tried out a lot of laptops and something I didn't factor in was where the delete/backspace key was un relation to others. It was hard for me to use. Also cut out of internet at random times and screen flashed black occasionally.

I ended up returning the laptop. It's a good brand laptop, I had Asus before, and it went well, but this one is a bit below my expectations. The specifications are great, exept the sreen resolution is so bad, not even a full HD display. And the laptop is a bit too heavy to carry around everyday, even though I do understand it has a big 16 inches screen

I am neither happy or unhappy with this laptop. It was a better price point than the one I really wanted. I use the 10 key a lot and this one is terrible. I haven't figured out how to get to the top or end of a spreadsheet yet. It seems to run hot.

So far so good. I really like this computer. The only reason for the 3 stars is it randomly got stuck on a black screen after I logged in one time. Which for being a brand new computer, it should not be having any issues so soon after purchase. I was able to get it powered off and restarted. It's been fine after that, but I'm definitely being very watchful now. And the battery life seems to be shorter than I expected.

The specs listed a memory card slot, but it does not include one on the computer itself. The computer is a good computer, just not what I needed. If you don't need a memory card slot and are okay with the screen being a standard LED screen, it's a decent laptop

I got this laptop to play sims and stream YouTube. I haven’t gone on YouTube with it yet but surfing the web is laggy and sims is very slow. Also came in a security mode and I wasn’t able to download my sims at first I had to google how to get it to work. Wish that would have all been explained to me. Maybe with time it will get a little better?

The computer is ok for the price; the keyboard seems quite larger even for a laptop. The size of the keyboard may be adquate for those looking for a full size even on a laptop. The batter is only 3 cells so on battery power is quite rapid.
