Extremely good display, and the device is lighter than a MacBook, with decent battery life (good in case of windows pc's)

Unboxing: Nice touches on packaging. When you open the box, the laptop “pops” up. It is a little aesthetic detail but it makes a nice presentation and does make it easy to grab from the box. Layout & Design: The keyboard is great for the most part with the exception of the power button. For some reason the power button is not the top right button, the “Delete” button is. It was a little dark in the room when I tried to turn it on the first time and I kept pushing delete instead of power. This isn’t a huge deal but definitely odd. The laptop itself looks like a well designed, high quality aluminum body. It checks my must-have boxes on size and weight. I like laptops that are 15mm (~ .6”) thin or less and under 1.3kg or less than 3lbs. It makes the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED a very good, portable option. I really like the matte finish, however, this leads to fingerprints on the finish like most matte finish laptops. There is not a fingerprint sensor to unlock the PC but it does use facial recognition, much like iPhones of the past several years. It works well in the light or dark. External Monitors: I use two 32” 165hz external monitors and a docking station for much of my computing needs. This ASUS Zenbook can push 1440p and 165hz to both monitors through on USB-C port. The laptop this ASUS is replacing can only push one external monitor at a refresh rate higher than 60hz per USB-C port. This is a big upgrade for me because it is much cleaner for my setup to have once cable do the work of two. Fans: This is a good news, bad news situation. What do you want first? Okay, bad news first. The bad news is that the fans run a lot. Typing this review with two Chrome windows and a total of four tabs open, driving two monitors with the lid closed, the fans have been slowly running almost nonstop. The good news is, they are fairly quiet. I really only notice them once in a while, but I do notice them. Performance: This is the first device I’ve used with an Intel Core Ultra Processor. So far I have noticed the ASUS to be very snappy and responsive. I haven’t used any programs that are too heavy so it has performed very well. The 8GB of RAM is… well, okay. More on that later. Battery & Charging: This laptop has fantastic battery life so far. ASUS claims up to 15 hours. Based on my usage so far, I would say they are not too far off. I have easily gotten 10 hours and been in the 20% range before I plugged in. The charger is USB-C, which is great since it is so universal. The detail I do not like about the charger is that it is all one piece. I much prefer a charger with a separate USB-C cable. If the charging block and cable are separate pieces, either one can be replaced if they are damaged or worn out. With this charger, in the case of damage or wear, the whole charger will need replacement. Sound: Let’s address the elephant in the room. Laptop manufacturers throw names out there like harmon/kardon, Bang & Olufsen, among others, but most laptop speakers are only good enough for basic tasks like listening to audiobooks or a quick video. Most people are using headphones if they are watching shows or movies. That said, the harmon/kardon speakers on this ASUS are a little above average. I find them to be plenty loud, without much distortion, to casually watch a show while I work or browse. Issues: I like this ASUS laptop. It has a beautiful OLED screen, it’s lightweight and portable, but there is one main issue I have with it and it is in regards to the RAM. This laptop comes with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory, which is pretty fast, but insufficient for 2024. Web browsers like Chrome and Edge eat RAM like nobody’s business. These days RAM is cheap (Best Buy has a 16GB DDR5 stick on sale for $39.99) and ASUS has made two errors (in my opinion) with this laptop. The first is, it should start with 16GB. This is the minimum needed these days to have a laptop that runs quickly and lasts for years to come. IF ASUS still believes 8GB is enough in 2024 and beyond, the minimum they should do is make a slot for expansion. This is the second mistake in my eyes because the RAM is soldered to the motherboard. Iit is cheaper and saves space to do this, but unfortunately this move also prevents the laptop from being upgraded in the future, ensuring it becomes e-waste sooner rather than later. Overall: Depending on your usage, the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED may work well for you. If you use it to watch movies or other videos, casual web browsing, pay bills, basic games, word processing, or other such activities, this ASUS will work just fine. It has a nice keyboard (minus the awkward power button placement), a beautiful OLED screen, great looks, and is nicely sized and portable. If you like to have 47 Chrome tabs open or use more memory-intensive programs you will eventually run into issues with only 8GB of RAM. If I could use decimals in my rating, this laptop would be 4.3 for me. I went with four stars because I can’t get past the memory concerns I have. It’s a great laptop so far, checks almost every box I have for a laptop.

I love this OLED display but I must say while is crystal clear at the same it get lost of glare which I am not fan, but I guess overall quality of this amazing picture beats some glare. Touch screen is nice feature and it does come handy when I want to zoom at something, and it more convenient than using mousepad. Built in camera closing lid it's nice touch and I really love that feature. Computer design is beautiful, polishing is awesome and weight is just perfect, not too light and not heavy. Device is very fast with exeption of start up, I do have slight delays there and if I click something there is two seconds delay to open up folder or file. Same thing with wifi, it takes about two seconds to connect on start up. Keyboard and touchpad are both quiet and pleasant to use, and computer itself it's quiet even when fan runs up and handle my works and same games very good. Device comes with 500gb space ssd drive and will provide planty of storage space for all your needs. My biggest complaint are lack of ports and sensitivity to fingerprints on lid. Device has 1 USB full size port, 2 of USB type C ports, 3,5mm audio jack for headsets and 1 hdmi output, and unless you are not using docking station like I do (I don't like to use one but lack of ports makes me), make sure to get USB type C adapters. As you can see on my picture lid is magnet for fingerprint and every single touch will leave a mark on it. Battery life is great and I get combinen time of 3 hours of battery life while watching some video and doing some work with email. Pros: OLED display Amazing clear picture Touch screen Quiet and comfortable keyboard Large mousepad Camera latch Fast processor Good storage size Perfect weight Good battery life Cons: Lack of ports Fingerprints sensitive Too much glare on the screen

The laptop is really nice and feels good with high quality materials but after 2 months I started having issues with the sound and screen so I had to return. Sad because it was a good deal but can’t handle it if issues are coming after 2 months only

I have owned several Asus computers and many of their other products (routers, motherboards) - all of which were well built and reliable. Based on my initial impression, I have no doubt that this Zenbook is the same quality I have come to expect from Asus. The light weight and thin profile, combined with the 14" screen size, make this laptop very portable and easy to hold while using. The Intel Core Ultra 5 Evo has plenty of power for everyday task and is very efficient. Pros 1. Excellent build quality. The screen hinge is easy to position and has no play at all. The aluminum case has a quality feel - good texture/finish and does not bend or creak. The rubber feet on the bottom keep do a great job of keeping the laptop in place and leave room for ventilation on hard surfaces. 2. Stay cools... never got hot and the fan is very quiet. 3. Battery life is great. While I didn't get the 15hrs claimed by Asus, I still easily got over 10hrs in mixed use, without trying to conserve battery power at all - blasting music (trying out the speakers), letting the MyAsus app auto-hibernate (rather than putting it to sleep during breaks), and increasing the screen brightness as needed. The MyAsus app also lets you adjust some options for managing battery health (limiting charging to 80% when a full charge is not needed) and has some smart options for conserving power when using the battery. 4. Full sized USB 3.2 Type-A port (no adapter needed), 2 USB-C ports (great since you need one for charging), head phone jack, and HDMI port (once again no adapter need – this is great, because lots of laptops make you use a USB-C adapter now). 5. 1920x1200 screen is sharp, with good colors, and brightness. It performed well in my brightly lit breakfast room and living room (lots of sun). I do wish the screen was less reflective (more of a matte finish), but adjusting the screen angle helps. 6. The nicely spaced keyboard has a good key travel and a backlight that can automatically adjust brightness to match ambient lighting. There is space on both sides of the trackpad to rest your palms and the track pad can also be disabled if you have a mouse (to avoid accidental clicks). 7. Built-in 1080p web camera is great for video conferencing. Images and video are clear with good brightness (with just a little noise/artificing). I love the easy to operate built-in privacy shutter (great job Asus). There are a variety of microphone modes to adjust noise cancelling in the MyAsus app. I used this for video chatting with family using Google Meet and they said that both the sound and image were clear. 8. Touch screen and multi-touch touchpad work great to allow you to leave your mouse at home. The touch screen is great for my younger daughter who sometimes has difficulty using the mouse/touch pad. Using two fingers/pinch to zoom in/out (on screen or on the touchpad) works better than using my mouse's scroll wheel. 9. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work great. I am connected using an older Wi-Fi mesh network and signal strength has been excellent in every room (better than my iPhone). My Bluetooth mouse connected instantly and has been working great. 10. The included USB-C charging cord is 6.5 ft long and gives you some options to find a plug on the go. 11. The included MyAsus app is really useful. I regularly use it to adjusting settings and monitor system performance. It also offers basic support, Asus update notifications, and product registration options. Things to Consider 1. The DDR5 RAM is fast, but the limited 8GB available (non-upgradable) is also the biggest drawback to this laptop. This means that this laptop is meant for casual use (like school work, email, web browsing, watching videos, and basic Office applications). I never experienced a performance issue - no lag at all (Windows does a good job of RAM management), but I saw RAM utilization of around 80-90% regularly with light multitasking. 2. The lower amount of RAM also means that you miss out on better integrated graphics (like the Intel Arc GPU), instead this laptop is limited to the standard Intel Integrated Graphics. I had no trouble with multiple screens (the built-in screen, plus one FHD at 60hz) for casual use, but this laptop should not be used for most modern video games and would likely struggle with any video editing/processing (beyond very basic changes). 3. The SSD storage (hard drive) is reasonably fast (up to 4,200MB/s read and 1,800MB/s write), made by Micron (very solid), and there is a minimal amount of preinstalled software - leaving 420GB of free space. This is an adequate amount of storage, but modern apps and videos can eat up space quickly so this might be an issue for some people. There is also no SD card reader, so you will need an adapter if you regularly use those. 4. The speakers are good for a light weight laptop, but they are a bit flat despite the harmon/kardon and Dolby Atmos labels. They do not distort (even at max volume), volume is good, there are lots of equalizer options, and the sound stage is a decent size (directly in front of the laptop), but the low-end response (bass) is just adequate.

I feel this Asus Zenbook is an absolutely amazing laptop. It is zippy and has a beautiful 14' OLED display with thin bezels. Although it only has 8GB of RAM, it's fast and I didn't have enough time with it to really give it a daily use bench test. It is well crafted and has a really great sound. Unfortunately for me, the memory went bad after 2 days of owning it. I have had ASUS before and I haven't nothing negative to say about them. They make great personal computing products. I did have to return it and opted to a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x. I certainly paid more for the Lenovo but everyone's budget is different. I would say, my experience was a fluke and I also understand that nothing is bullet proof. Perhaps, just a case of bad luck. I would highly recommend this product! My experience was just an anomaly. It shouldn't take it away from the power this laptop has too offer.

Light weight, Compact, and Vibrant Display. Battery life is optimal. Fans will cause small amount of noise, but not enough to be a disturbance. 8GB is perfect for light tasks and school work. All in all, a high quality laptop for the price.

The asus zenbook is a good choice, combining sleek design with good performance. Its processor is somehow smooth while the Screen display delivers stunning visuals. With long battery life and fast SSD storage, it's perfect for both work and play.

What I like about this laptop is the bright OLED bright display, battery life and the lightweight easy to carry around. Touch screen is an addition. I had a $200 discounted price when I bought it. I cant pass this up. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Light and snappy laptop. I wish it had touch screen and a dedicate keyboard key to turn off the screen. To turn off the screen, you would have to set power setting to turn it off after a fixed period of time. Kinda annoying. Every laptop I own so far have a key to turn off the screen immediately. And despite using a snap dragon CPU, it does generate some heat on the bottom of the unit. I would expect the unit to run cool w/o heat like a cell phone when I'm using it just to browse the web.

Pretty solid 14" laptop. I wish it had 16GB ram but for web browsing and word processing, I haven't had any problems. Wifi seems pretty fast. Nice screen and touch works well. I got it on sale under 500 and consider it a good deal.

Battery Life excellent, The screen was very nice, and the build quality was excellent. The temperatures and the performance was subpar due to the low 8gb of ram.

Works great for my use case of using it for light tasks such as chrome and office programs. Does get a bit laggy once you start keeping some tabs open and especially once you get spotify running in the background. Definitely suggest keeping the background backs down to a minimum, if not, definitely go with the 16gb model.
