The only difference between this ASUS WIFI BE5000 router and the Zen WIFI BD5 router is just the name, both belongs to the same BE5000 Product Segment with identical hardware specifications and functionalities.
Can you connect to your existing modem wirelessly or do you need a long ethernet cable
You must use an ethernet cable to connect your main ZenWiFi BE5000 unit directly to your existing modem, it does not have a "wireless repeater" mode to connect to a modem without a cable. However, you only need the ethernet cable for the main router connected to your modem. The other two ZenWiFi units can be connected to the main router wirelessly to expand your network.
Can I use this with Verizon’s fastest internet and would it be just as fast?
There are a lot of factors to weigh in when speed is mentioned for routers, such as distance and how many objects there are to interfere with the signal. However, it'll work great with Verizon.
