I was able use this phone as a Tracfone BYOF, bring your own phone. I'm using almost no data; even the maps driving navigation can work TOTALLY without using any data-- by download maps from Wi-Fi to memory. With time I am liking the Windows maps navigation better than the google stuff. The best thing about this phone is I'm back to having only 1 email address to worry about... and the phone works just like my computer! And price reduced for me ;-)
