By adding dedicated sound behind and around the primary listening position, the speakers enhance movies, television, sports, games, and other entertainment with a more enveloping surround presentation. The system includes two compact surround speakers and two wireless receivers. Each receiver communicates wirelessly with a compatible Bose soundbar, reducing the need to run long speaker cables from the front of the room to the rear listening area. Each speaker connects by cable to its nearby wireless receiver, while the receivers use AC power. At approximately 3.7 inches high, each surround speaker has a compact footprint designed to remain unobtrusive in a living room or dedicated home theater. The speakers can be positioned on shelves or compatible speaker stands and can also be installed using appropriate wall-mounting accessories. These speakers are designed specifically for rear surround-channel reproduction. Rather than simply increasing front-channel volume, they reproduce effects and ambient information from behind and around the listening position, complementing the front soundstage created by a compatible Bose soundbar. Compatibility includes a range of Bose home theater soundbars, including the Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar, Smart Soundbar 900, Smart Soundbar 700, Smart Soundbar 600, Smart Soundbar 300, Soundbar 500, and SoundTouch 300. Compatibility should be confirmed for the exact soundbar configuration before installation. The wireless receiver design helps minimize long cable runs across the room while still providing dedicated rear speakers. Speaker cables are required only between each surround speaker and its nearby receiver. The Bose Surround Speakers are intended to operate as part of a compatible Bose home theater system rather than as standalone wireless speakers. They do not independently provide direct Bluetooth music streaming.
