Can I just use the black ink? Or do I have to purchase the colors too?
Answered by BrotherMost machines can print in a Black and White mode when the color ink runs low. When the color ink becomes empty, the color ink cartridges must be replaced to continue to print black and white.
Do I need to have a print cleaning head performed when I purchase all new printing cartriges for my printer because they dried out from my non use ? Also what is best Super High Yield or Ultra High Yield ?
Answered by BrotherWhen an ink cartridge is installedWhen an ink cartridge is installed to your Brother printer, it will automatically start the printhead cleaning process on it's own. The Super High Yield or Ultra High Yield are the same quality. The only difference is the ultra high yield cartridges will yield more pages printed. to your Brother printer, it will automatically start the printhead cleaning process on it's own. I don't want to spend that much money. All I need is a Brother printer that only prints in black. I have a HPJetPro that hasn't worked for over 7 months I am getting charged for ink that don't get because the printer will not connect to the internet.

Does the ink dry up if you don't use the printer often?
Answered by Rod3975From my experience all ink jet printers will loose some ink to cleaning the jets to help keep the printing quality good. Even if you are not actually printing. They will have some kind of cycle to maintain the quality. You can expect the printer to go through a cleaning cycle every now and then ( someone once mentioned 30 hours - I have never timed mine) to help keep the print heads clean and functional. If you turn the printer off for long periods of time and the heads dry up. It can be difficult to get the print quality back. It may also not clear and need a new print head. The manual printer cleaning functions can use a lot of ink as well. The only real option is a color laser but you pay more for that option. Much more. At least the Brother printer cartridge's are a little bigger and will keep you printing longer
If I buy this cartridge as a replacement, will it solve the problem I have with clogging? My MFC-J995DW printer has been clogging up on the black ink, so I have to run the Print Head Cleaning routine VERY frequently. Very frustrating!
